New York, NY – Holmes Cay Rum has released a one-of-a-kind Infinity edition, a standout even among its periodic Rarest Edition releases. This particular aged infinity blend combines the last available samples of some of the rarest single cask rums from the world’s most renowned rum distilleries; it is a single cask of single casks. The Infinity contains aged rums from 13 distilleries across 7 different countries, ranging from 20 to 47 years old, from 1976 to 2003.
With origins in Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad, Guadeloupe, Barbados, Venezuela, and Brazil, the rums in this cask once belonged to the aged rum stocks of the Main Rum Company in Liverpool, UK. When samples were no longer required as flavor references, some chosen placed into an ex-rum cask. The cask sealed in November of 2003. The Infinity edition was bottled just over 20 years later.
A truly rare and historic offering, only 100 full-sized (700 ml) cask strength bottles have been bottled.
Holmes Cay founder Eric Kaye says, “I am extremely grateful to the Main Rum Company for entrusting us with this special barrel. There is truly nothing like the Holmes Cay Infinity in the rum world. The components are a Who’s Who of the great distilleries of past and present. Legendary lost rums from Caroni, Uitvlugt, Enmore, and Gardel aged for 20 years with storied classics from Hampden, Long Pond, Diamond, Montebello and others. This incredible cask includes gems such as a 1976 Port Mourant from Guyana and a 47 year old Gardel rhum agricole from Guadeloupe. The rarity of some of these rums and their age in the cask truly make it one of a kind.”
The Infinity cask bottling is boxed and accompanied by a book detailing the component distilleries and the individual rum marks those distilleries have contributed.
Said Kaye, “Holmes Cay seeks out exceptional rums from around the world to share with discerning spirits lovers. As you sip this piece of rum history, we hope that you will reflect on the exceptional lineage of this unique cask. This rum will never and could never be released again.”
Holmes Cay Infinity is bottled at full cask strength, or 58% alcohol by volume.
Tasting Notes
On the nose, the Holmes Cay Infinity edition boasts rich baking spice, vanilla and caramel, highlighting oak interaction in the years of maturation. On the tongue, the interplay grows to include layers of vanilla, toffee and overripe banana with a backbone of leather. The toffee sweetness fades as leather and tobacco linger, imparting subtle dryness to the long finish.
The 700 milliliter bottle/boxed set has a suggested retail price of $1500. An extremely limited number of 200 ml bottles will also be available, at a suggested retail price of $300.
In addition to its Rarest Edition releases, Holmes Cay Rum releases an annual series of limited edition single cask rums. Its 2024 collection includes bottlings from Barbados, Belize, Venezuela and Trinidad. Holmes Cay’s offerings represent a curated approach to rum made with the utmost integrity.
Holmes Cay rums are distributed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington D.C. They are also available throughout the US via holmescay.com.

About Eric Kaye
Eric Kaye founded Holmes Cay Rum in 2019. Frustrated that access to cask strength rums without additives was limited in the United States, Kaye saw an opportunity to focus on the hard-to-obtain aged expressions that he had encountered in Europe and the Caribbean, while championing increased transparency across the category. Kaye’s extensive knowledge of rum and relationships with highly regarded distilleries worldwide enable him to select, bottle and import rare casks, unusual expressions and delicious blends.
