CHICAGO – January 14, 2024 – Molson Coors Beverage Company (NYSE: TAP; TSX: TPX) announced today that it will donate $100,000 to multiple initiatives supporting first responders and service-industry workers in Southern California as the area grapples with devastating wildfires.
Contributions will be allocated to initiatives that include the California Restaurant Foundation’s Restaurants Care program to provide financial support for Los Angeles-area bar and restaurant employees impacted by the fires. Applications for workers seeking relief are open Jan. 14 here. Through its donation, Molson Coors will be a founding sponsor of the grant program.
“In a time of such devastation and disruption, we are glad to do our part to support local bars, restaurants and their hardworking staffs,” said Michael Nordman, senior manager of community affairs for Molson Coors. “When tragedy strikes, Molson Coors is committed to helping our industry, and that includes the thousands of service-industry workers who’ve been evacuated or affected by the wildfires raging across Southern California.”
The California Restaurant Foundation is a nonprofit that has supported the state’s food and beverage workers since 1981. Through its Restaurants Care mission, it has opened a temporary fund to provide emergency relief grants to food and beverage workers impacted by the Los Angeles area wildfires.
Molson Coors heeded a call for corporate donors to seed the initiative.
"We are deeply grateful to Molson Coors Beverage Company for its generous donation to Restaurants Care's Los Angeles Fires 2025 Relief Grants," said Alycia Harshfield, President of the California Restaurant Foundation. "This support will make a meaningful difference for restaurant owners and their employees impacted by the devastating fires, helping them to begin rebuilding their lives and find a sense of immediate hope during this challenging time."
Additionally, Blue Run Spirits and Coors Banquet are donating to the California Fire Foundation’s Wildfire & Disaster Relief Fund. Coors Banquet has a lengthy history of supporting wildland firefighters through its Protect Our Protectors program, which has raised more than $2.5 million for firefighting causes since its inception a decade ago.
Lastly, Molson Coors’ ZOA Energy is teaming with beverage incubator LA Libations to donate nearly 15,000 cans of the better-for-you energy drink to Los Angeles first responders, who have cited energy drinks as a desired item as they work to control and manage the ongoing damage. Through a donation match and in-kind product, Reyes Beverage Group is joining Molson Coors to support these efforts.
