Miami, FL – As the team kicks off 2025, Desolas Mezcal, the female-founded premium spirit brand, reflects on a year filled with significant milestones, unprecedented recognition and exciting growth. The brand has made remarkable strides in elevating its profile with numerous prestigious awards, expanding its distribution and creating powerful partnerships to highlight its commitment to quality and social responsibility. 

Desolas Mezcal has shown consistent growth from 2023 into 2024 with a 103% increase in sales nationwide.

Award-Winning Excellence: Desolas Mezcal’s exceptional craftsmanship and dedication to quality were recognized at the highest levels in 2024, solidifying the brand as one of the finest mezcals on the market. Among the year’s most notable achievements were:

  • Double Gold at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) for the second year in a row, alongside a 95-point score from The Tasting Alliance.
  • Best of Class at the 2024 New York World Spirits Competition (NYWSC), crowning Desolas “Best Mezcal in The World” by the Tasting Alliance - recognizing Desolas as the finest mezcal in its category, and Double Gold. 
  • Platinum Medal at the 2024 L.A. Spirits Awards, further solidifying Desolas as one of the most awarded mezcals globally. 

These prestigious awards are a testament to the brand’s dedication to crafting a smooth, low-smoke mezcal made from Salmiana Agave. The unique production methods, including cooking the agave in above-ground ovens known as "hornos," contribute to Desolas' signature flavor profile—botanical, agave-forward, with delicate herbal and citrus notes.

Expansion and Strategic Growth: 

As Desolas continues to grow, the brand has expanded its USA market presence in 2024 adding both Colorado with SGWS and Savannah Distributing in Georgia. Along with Colorado, Desolas Mezcal has entered into a national distributing deal with SGWS, USA’s top liquor distribution company. Another significant milestone in Texas was the addition of Spec’s Retail Stores, Texas' largest spirits retailer, allowing Desolas to reach new customers across the Lone Star State. This expansion builds on the brand’s successful Texas launch in 2023 where SGWS is their distribution partner. 

In addition to expanding retail partnerships, Desolas welcomed Sammy Halpern, former Blue Run Spirits Executive, as its new Chief Strategy Officer. With Halpern’s expertise in brand building, distribution, and global strategy, Desolas is well-positioned to expand its reach further, tapping into new markets domestically and internationally.

Purpose-Driven Partnerships: Desolas made waves in the fashion and social impact sectors by partnering with Congo Clothing Company, a purpose-driven fashion brand focused on empowering women in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The collaboration saw the launch of a limited-edition collection, with 10% of profits supporting job training for women survivors of sexual violence in the DRC.

Looking Ahead to 2025: Desolas Mezcal’s momentum shows no signs of slowing. With an expanding market presence, industry accolades and a commitment to excellence, the brand is poised for an even more successful 2025.
