AUSTIN, Texas (April 9, 2025) -- Desert Door Texas Sotol announced today its new partnership with Tecovas, a leading name in high-quality western goods and accessories. Beginning in April of 2025, Desert Door Original Texas Sotol will be featured in all Tecovas retail stores nationwide (where legal) as part of their in-store bar program, as well as appear at several Tecovas events and activations throughout the year. All 30+ Tecovas stores serving Desert Door will be outfitted with Desert Door copitas, bar mats and bottle openers for fans to enjoy onsite.
As part of this partnership, Desert Door will be releasing custom, limited-edition branding options at select Tecovas retail locations for fans to brand onto boots, belts and other leather goods.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to partner with a brand like Tecovas,” said CEO of Desert Door, Brent Looby. “Their passion and dedication to honoring the traditions of the west while embracing the modern-day spirit of adventure is reflective of our own, and this truly feels like an opportunity for two trailblazing Texas originals to come together for one legendary collaboration.”
‘Sotol’ is both the name of the unique spirit produced by Desert Door and the plant the spirit is made from. A distant cousin of the agave plant, sotol grows wild across West Texas. Desert Door’s sotol is wild harvested, removing the need for harmful farming practices such as fertilizers, pesticides or irrigation and conserving land and water. Tequila’s smoother, more sustainable cousin – Desert Door is smooth enough to sip straight over ice and versatile enough to enjoy in cocktails. Desert Door’s Original Texas Sotol will be available at Tecovas stores, with the remaining varietals and limited edition releases available for purchase in stores and onsite at the distillery.
Desert Door’s relationship with Tecovas paves the way for a new wave of Western-loving individuals to discover and fall in love with the unique wild spirit of sotol – a true ranch-to-glass spirit that tastes unquestionably of the land, wild harvested with no additives. More information, including details on pop up activations and event appearances, will be released at a later date.
