Silgan Closures Launches Aseptic Resource Hub for OEM Fillers and CPG Brands

Downers Grove, Ill. (April 14, 2025) – Silgan Closures, a global leader in closure solutions, has launched its new Aseptic Advantage landing page, a comprehensive online hub designed to support, educate, and connect the growing aseptic packaging community. The page is now live on our silgancls website.

As the food and beverage industry experiences a rapid shift toward aseptic processing—particularly in dairy, plant-based beverages, functional drinks, and low-acid products—Silgan is meeting the moment with a campaign centered not on selling, but on solving and supporting.

"This platform is a tool used to educate and showcase the all-encompassing knowledge that Silgan brings to the table," said Alec Hollen, Packaging Engineer at Silgan Closures. "It reflects our extensive aseptic experience and our ability to support fillers and OEMs with hands-on solutions."

The Aseptic Advantage page was developed to meet the specific needs of OEM fillers, brand owners, and packaging engineers navigating the complexities of aseptic processing. It includes several key content sections:

OEM-Specific Performance Insights 

This section provides targeted information on how Silgan closures integrate with the technologies of leading OEMs and aseptic fillers. It includes guidance on performance compatibility, testing and validation outcomes, and technical support for troubleshooting and optimization.

Sustainability and Lightweighting Innovation 

This section highlights Silgan’s commitment to sustainable design through lightweighting strategies, linerless technology, and recyclable materials. Additional content on comparative lifecycle assessments (LCA) will be added soon to help customers evaluate the environmental impact of various closure options.

    "We’ve made these closures as light as possible to maximize performance while minimizing our carbon footprint," said Jeremy Yocca, Package Commercialization Manager. "Even removing a liner has a huge sustainability impact."

    Aseptic-Ready Closure Solutions 

    The hub showcases Silgan’s full portfolio of aseptic-ready closures—ranging from fitments to 43mm screw caps—engineered for high-speed lines and demanding aseptic applications. Leveraging decades of technical expertise, these closures feature advanced sealing technology designed to deliver leak-proof performance and seamless integration with modern filling equipment.

    Multiple Market Design

      The aseptic closure collection spans dairy, juices, plant-based beverages, teas, sport drinks, other isotonic beverages, coconut water, and coffee. Each product is designed with aseptic integrity and tamper evidence in mind, offering broad-spectrum barrier protection and certification for sensitive applications.

      Support and Sample Requests 

      A streamlined contact form allows users to request product samples, dimensional guides, or speak directly with a Silgan technical expert. The goal is to open direct conversations between OEMs, brand owners, and Silgan’s engineering team.

      This is just the beginning—Silgan plans to grow the platform with additional resources to further support aseptic packaging innovation. Upcoming updates will explore one-piece versus two-piece closure performance, extrusion energy differences between polypropylene (PP) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and key environmental tradeoffs for aseptic partners to consider.

      This initiative is part of a broader effort to transition from a product-first approach to a solution-first strategy. Silgan’s team, known for supporting complex aseptic projects globally, is investing in long-term relationships built on collaboration, not just transactions.
