At Drinktec 2025 (Munich, 15-19 September, Messe München Trade Fair Center), SACMI will be showing how its integrated, performance-oriented approach makes it the world’s leading provider of complete cap and preform manufacturing solutions.

For the first time, SACMI will be exhibiting in Hall C5 (PET point). The star of the show will be the complete line with the CCM64MD press - the most productive press ever manufactured by Sacmi - in combination with the latest solutions for slitting, folding, cap quality control and tamper band effectiveness. On the preform front, visitors will have the possibility to see the IPS 400D - with electric clamping and optimized COOL+® post-cooling - in action. Digital control will also play a prominent role, with the SMARTPACK™ system mounted on both lines and data visible in the Control Room.

CCM64MD Line: unmatched productivity, lower consumption, digital controls

With 2,850 caps per minute from just 64 molds (171,000 cph) and specific consumption up to15% lower than on the previous range, the SACMI CCM64MD sets a new standard for cap compression presses. Overall dimensions remaining equal, productivity is 50% higher and a single press can feed two high-capacity bottling lines. The press at the fair will feature a special mold to produce AB26WT14 caps and be set up to perform tethered slitting. A machine cycle of just 1.35 secmeans it has the world’s fastest cycle for this type of cap.

The entire line is designed to maximize productivity while process controls streamline the workers’ tasks. Once made, the caps enter the SFM15MA slitting machine - a new entry in the SACMI slitting-folding range - and are then sample-checked by the PFM (Pull Force Machine).

For the first time, both the compression press and the slitting machine feature SMARTPACK™ packages, another first for SFM machines.

Throughout the entire line, visitors will be able to appreciate the exclusive SACMI Computer Vision Classy AI automatic defect classification system, powered by proprietary AI algorithms. Comprehensive, predictive product/process quality control has also been facilitated by integrating the CVS152 (on the press) and the CVS154 (on the slitting machine) systems.

Preforms: new IPS 400D with electric clamping and optimized COOL+ mold

At the heart of the preform range lies the new IPS400D: featuring electric clamping, it also has an energy recovery system that makes it one of the industry’s most competitive machines in terms of consumption. In action throughout the exhibition, this machine will be equipped with the first release of SMARTPACK™ (specifically designed for the IPS range) and a unique on-press PVS156 vision system. During the demos, it will produce a 7.04 gram preform with a GME 30.28 neck, compatible with the cap made by the CCM press.

An effective combination of press, COOL+® post-cooling system and FLOW+® hot runner maximizes productivity, quality and reliability. This made-in-SACMI synergy can shorten cycle times to less than 5.9 s seconds. What’s more, a sharp focus on versatility means the IPS400D can also be used with third-party molds without compromising press productivity.

Digitalisation of processes and artificial vision

Among the highlights of SACMI at Drinktec are the tangible benefits of process digitalisation. Customers will be able to see and evaluate the effective economic benefits of digitalising processes, especially through the synergy between SMARTPACK™ and SMARTCARE™.

SMARTPACK™ is a deeply integrated hardware and software kit designed to maximise flexibility and real-time adjustment precision during production.

The system is installed on all machines in the line. It collects and monitors key process parameters, including: the correct insertion of doses, the condition of hydraulic oil and mold coolant mixture, but also the proper functioning of the hydraulic system and temperature control system components.

SMARTPACK™ can anticipate production drifts, simplify operations (by avoiding waste and errors), and help maintain the efficiency of machines and molds over time.

To help you make the right medium- and long-term line management decisions, the SMARTCARE™ service transforms information into economic value.

As a cloud-based computing solution for machines connected to an IoT platform, SMARTCARE™ was designed with a single purpose in mind: to facilitate optimal decision-making in terms of line management.

Demonstrations at the stand will show how SMARTCARE™ enables the monitoring of process parameters through SMARTPACK™ (installed on all machines) and processes this information to deliver predictive insights on performance, diagnostics, and maintenance.

Thanks to perfect complementarity between the two systems, streamlined synergy between cap and preform technologies has evolved into a complete, scalable solution that focuses on optimizing the entire production cycle. Further advantages stem from high system productivity, with all the benefits of a compact line that reduces footprint, consumption and operating costs.

On the topic of artificial vision, the Drinktec fair will, in addition to the CVS systems installed on the line, be previewing the new CVS-ONECAM. This compact smart camera, equipped with integrated calculator, acquisition card and CVS SACMI software, is designed to perform quality control on caps, containers, labels and decorations. Featuring a 190 frame/sec sensor, ONECAM can detect all the most common faults such as contamination, color/profile variations and structural defects: a powerful, flexible alternative to traditional quality controls and also a practical, cost-effective, compact solution with which to revamp existing plants.

Why choose SACMI?

Productivity and efficiency, sustainability and user-friendly control are the cornerstones of the SACMI value proposition, a global player in this industry for over 70 years.

Excellent availability of original spare parts - thanks to support and assistance from local Network branches - ensures you always get the most out of SACMI technologies and plants, ensuring long-term continuity of production and consistent efficiency.

On an increasingly competitive market, SACMI is not just a machine supplier but a valuable partner. Placing your trust in SACMI means being able to count on cutting-edge technology, global support (established in the local area) and continuous innovation, getting the most out of your investment and maximizing the benefits of the technology at all times.

At Drinktec, SACMI will also focus on the end products: a series of theme-based showcases will illustrate various solutions - and the unparalleled quality and reliability – able to be produced using original SACMI technology and molds.
