L’Ecole No 41 Unveils a Slate of New Guest Experiences at its Landmark Winery in Walla Walla
As its historic schoolhouse turns 110, the pioneering Washington winery invests in a diverse range of experiences to introduce the brand to new consumers.
Lowden, WA (July 15, 2025) - L’Ecole No 41, one of Washington’s founding wineries, is honoring the 110th anniversary of its historic and eponymous schoolhouse not just with celebration, but with transformation. This summer, the third-generation, family-owned winery is introducing a bold refresh of its hospitality offerings, designed to engage new generations of wine enthusiasts while remaining rooted in the legacy that made L’Ecole a Washington icon.
“We’re seeing a growing appetite for approachable, immersive wine experiences - especially among younger consumers who are seeking more than just a tasting,” said Melissa Clubb, third-generation family member and Brand Manager at L’Ecole No 41. “Our Hospitality Manager, Ciera Roop, and I have spent countless hours dreaming, planning, and bringing these experiences to life at our historic schoolhouse. I feel a deep sense of duty to help shape the way forward for the next 40 years, and I am incredibly proud to be backed by a team and leadership that fully supports our mission. These experiences were made for everyone, but creating space for a new generation is a major focus.”
With an updated outdoor patio and a thoughtful shift in how its hospitality team engages guests, L’Ecole’s winery in Lowden is now home to a growing menu of curated wine moments—from casual gatherings to elevated educational pairings.

“We’ve seen new guests discover us through these experiences—and our longtime club members are loving them, too,” said Ciera Roop, Hospitality Manager at L’Ecole. “It’s been exciting to see people connect with the space in new ways.”
Honoring 110 Years of the Historic Schoolhouse
Originally built in 1915, the Frenchtown School has stood as a landmark in the Walla Walla Valley - and the soul of L’Ecole - since the winery’s founding in 1983.
“The schoolhouse has witnessed more than a century of stories,” said Clubb. “As we step into this milestone year, we’re not only celebrating where we’ve been—we’re actively shaping where we’re going. These walls hold our history, but they also make space for the future.”
This year’s refresh is not just cosmetic. The winery’s leadership and hospitality teams are working in lockstep to ensure every guest interaction feels welcoming, vibrant, and aligned with the evolving wine culture.
