More water, bigger bubbles—arriving first on Amazon late August 2025

[Marina del Rey, CA – August 5, 2025] — MTN WTR, the naturally alkaline spring water sourced from Mt. Fuji, today unveiled two significant enhancements to its lineup: a roomier 16.9-ounce (500 mL) can that replaces the current 16-ounce package, and an all-new EXTRA STRONG Sparkling Water inspired by Japan’s love for high-carbonation beverages.

Bigger cans, more value

At 500 mL, the new can delivers six percent more hydration without forcing retailers to reconfigure their shelves. The upsized format applies across Still, Classic Sparkling, and EXTRA STRONG Sparkling varieties and retains a suggested retail price of $1.99 per single can.

What makes “EXTRA STRONG” different?

EXTRA STRONG Sparkling Water is carbonated to 4.0–4.5 volumes of CO2—roughly double the fizz in MTN WTR’s Classic Sparkling (2.0–2.5 volumes). In Japan, these “strong” (?????) waters are prized not only for their palate-cleansing bite but also for the lively mouth-feel they add to popular drinks, like the iconic whisky highball, where intense bubbles keep the cocktail light and endlessly refreshing. MTN WTR is the first water brand to bring this level of effervescence to U.S. shelves, offering American consumers the crisp refreshment enjoyed across Japan.

*Carbonation peaks at colder serving temps.

Availability

  • Amazon Brand Store: Eight-packs of all three varieties begin shipping nationwide late August 2025
  • Retail singles: 500-mL cans will start appearing in grab-and-go coolers and grocery sets beginning late August 2025; initial retail partners will be announced shortly.
  • 24-pack cases: Launch for wholesale and Amazon late September 2025

“We saw an opportunity to give people both a bigger sip and the freedom to choose their sparkle. No other water brand in the U.S. offers two distinct carbonation levels, so we decided to lead the way. Our new 500-mL can delivers better value without a shelf reset, and EXTRA STRONG brings the bold effervescence that Japanese consumers already love to the American market—while still showcasing the purity of Mt. Fuji.” — Masa Kinemuchi, Founder & CEO, MTN WTR

About MTN WTR

MTN WTR is a Japanese water brand committed to its mission of “Good water for everyone.” Founded in the U.S. by Masa Kinemuchi and Takashi Nakamura, MTN WTR sources its naturally alkaline spring water from the pristine aquifers of Mt. Fuji in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. Filtered for 50 years through volcanic rock, each drop delivers a remarkably clean, refreshing taste without additives. Available in both still and sparkling varieties, MTN WTR can be found in over 500 doors, as well as Amazon and restaurants nationwide.
