August 14, 2025 (Lenexa, KS) – Union Horse Distilling Co. announces the addition of Union Horse Distilling Co.’s Bottled-in-Bond Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey to their year-round stable of brands. Union Horse Bottled-in-Bond Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey began as a limited release in October 2023 and is crafted for the true connoisseur. Due to its popularity and success, UHD Bottled-in-Bond will be releasing year-round in Missouri and Kansas starting in Mid-August. It will release to additional markets in early September through October.
“We are so excited to add Bottled-in-Bond as the newest addition in our stable,” Directory of Sales and Co-Founder, Damian Garcia. “It’s been three years since the release of our award-winning, Rivalist American Single Malt was added to our year-round releases and felt it was time to welcome a new release that is so well loved by our consumers and trade. Bottled-in-Bond is a celebration of our commitment to create a unique collection of authentic, artisanal offerings.”
Distilled and bottled in bond, this small batch whiskey is distilled from a sour mash recipe of corn and rye. Handcrafted in their 500-gallon, column, pot still (lovingly known as “Chester Copperpot” who is also featured on the bottle) using only traditional methods and then aged to perfection in their signature oak barrels in their bonded warehouse. The whiskey is bottled at a strength of 50% ABV. On the palate, it is full-bodied with flavors of butterscotch, vanilla, cinnamon spice, and dark fruit. (MSRP: $45-47)
“Creating our Union Horse Bottled-in-Bond has been a testament to an age-old tradition. With this category increasing in popularity over the years, we knew that adding it to our stable of brands would be an exciting journey,” says Master Distiller and Co-founder, Patrick Garcia. "Created by utilizing our base Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey and following all Bottled-in-Bond standards, Union Horse Bottled in Bond flavors deliver layered notes you’ll taste in every sip."The bottled-in-bond designation is steeped in more than a century of American distilling heritage. The Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 began designating mandates that brands clear numerous rigorous hurdles. The bond states: The spirit must be aged for at least four years and bottled at precisely 100 proof (50% abv). It must be made by one distiller at a single distillery in one season (January–June or July–December), then aged in a bonded warehouse. Today, the resurgence of the Bottled-in-Bond term is an indication of how far quality whiskey-making has come, often with a nod to its historical origins. This award-winning bourbon whiskey has received top accolades including: Top 100 American Whiskeys of 2024 (Fred Minnick), Platinum (2025 Ascot Awards) and Double Gold, 96 points (2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition).
