San Diego woman launches Hugo Bleu, a decadent blend of fine French VSOP Cognac and all natural ingredients, low proof (24% Alc./Vol) in two unprecedented flavors: European Chocolate and Gourmet Coffee.
The Founder, Cecile Giraud, was raised in a small French village, where Cognac is the after-dinner drink of choice. As a young woman, she wanted to love Cognac. Although intimidating at first, mostly because this renown spirit is predominantly associated with men, she was determined to delight in this symbol of French excellence, as a way to honor her roots and family values. Sadly, she couldn’t go past the harsh taste, oaky palate and strong alcohol content.
After years of working in the spirts business and developing groundbreaking lines such as Chocovine, she turned her attention to her grandfather’s beloved Cognac, and teamed up with one of France’s top master blenders to create Hugo Bleu, a low proof (24%Alc./Vol.) line of decadent Cognac-infused, ultra-premium liqueurs, using all natural ingredients.
Hugo Bleu comes in two unprecedented flavors: Hugo Bleu Chocolate, where our VSOP Cognac is blended with decadent European chocolate, and Hugo Bleu Coffee, boasting the bold and aromatic flavor of freshly roasted gourmet fair trade coffee. More flavors are being developed. Stay tuned!
