With U.S. alcohol consumption at its lowest level in nearly a century, Austin-based startup is stepping into the spotlight with a bold new take on coconut water. Officially launched in July 2025, Wild Blood offers still and sparkling varieties sourced exclusively from Vietnam’s Ben Tre region, celebrated for coconuts with a sweeter, smoother taste.
Unlike traditional coconut water brands packaged in beach-themed cartons, Wild Blood comes in large-format cans wrapped with intricate, hand-drawn artwork. The dark, surreal imagery - tangled roots, watchful creatures, otherworldly landscapes - evokes the craft beer aisle more than a tropical getaway. This approach positions Wild Blood squarely in music venues, gyms, bars, and festivals, where demand for natural, alcohol-free options continues to rise.
Founded in 2024 by a group of industry outsiders with backgrounds in accounting, engineering, and finance, Wild Blood reflects its creators’ shared passion for live music, outdoor adventure, and festival culture. “Coconut water has been enjoyed for thousands of years, but it hasn’t been given the stage it deserves,” said founder Taylor Ellison. “Wild Blood brings it into new spaces with taste and design that resonate with today’s consumers.”
The company has quickly established traction in Austin. Wild Blood is available online at and Amazon, and stocked in select retailers and gyms. National expansion is planned for late 2025 and 2026, with active discussions underway with distributors and retail partners. To mark its debut, the brand hosted an official launch party on September 20 at the Virgin Hotel’s Kassi Beach Club in Las Vegas, with a hometown celebration November 15 in Austin.
Wild Blood is also dedicated to giving back. Within its first month, the company joined and began supporting local organizations, including Save Barton Creek Association, Giving Austin Labor Support (GALS), and Round Rock ISD, through financial contributions and product donations.
The timing could not be better: the U.S. coconut water market is projected to more than double from $1.89 billion in 2023 to $5.12 billion in 2029, and younger adults are increasingly turning away from alcohol. With its premium sourcing, sparkling twist, and distinctive visual identity, Wild Blood is positioning itself as the natural alternative for a generation seeking bold, better-for-you options.
