Midway, Utah – December 2024 – Brause, the award-winning German Craft Soda made in the US, has announced a new distribution partnership with A Priori, the respected, family-owned Utah distributor operated by the Caputo family. This collaboration will expand Brause's retail and foodservice footprint across Utah, one of the most influential craft soda markets in the country.
Founded by husband and wife team Amna and Julian Mettmann, Brause has quickly become a standout in the premium soda and non-alcoholic beverage category. The brand offers three craft sodas, each made with 2 to 5 natural ingredients and a signature bold fizz: Sparkling Apple, Apple x Malt, and Date x Malt. Since launching in 2025, Brause has earned national recognition including the 2025 Shelfie Award for Best Beverage, being named a NEXTY Finalist, and being listed as one of Startup CPG's Hottest Brands of 2025.
A Priori brings decades of experience and strong retailer relationships across the state. As a family-run business, the Caputos have built A Priori on values that mirror Brause's own approach: quality, craftsmanship, and meaningful connection to the communities they serve. The partnership aligns two Utah-based, family-led companies that share a commitment to introducing premium, clean-label products to more consumers.
"Utah is the soda capital of the world and easily our fastest-growing region. Partnering with A Priori is a natural fit," said Amna Mettmann, Co-Founder of Brause. "The Caputo family has a deep understanding of specialty products and a long history of supporting emerging brands. We are excited to grow with a partner that shares our values."
Through this partnership, Brause will expand into more Utah retailers, outdoor and adventure-focused accounts, specialty markets, restaurants, and cafés. A Priori's in-market expertise will strengthen merchandising, in-store support, and local availability for consumers looking for a clean, flavorful, better-for-you soda option.
The partnership begins immediately, with expanded availability rolling out throughout winter and spring 2026.
