Cooper Spirits Accelerates Growth with Sales Team Expansion in Key Markets Through Strategic Alliance with Countermeasures (CMC)
(PHILADELPHIA, PA) January 21, 2026 – The Cooper Spirits Company, a third-generation, woman-owned, independent spirits company known for building category-defining brands, including St-Germain, Slow & Low, and Lock Stock & Barrel, has announced a strategic alliance with Countermeasures (CMC).
Effective immediately, the new partnership will first accelerate the distribution growth of Cooper Spirits' Slow & Low brand with a strengthened sales team expansion across 17 key U.S. markets, from coast to coast. Partnering with Countermeasures marks a major milestone in the spirits company's next phase of growth, along with a shared company ethos of entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to smart execution.
"We are thrilled to partner with Countermeasures to significantly expand our feet on the street, market intelligence, and ability to execute with focus and discipline," said Katie Cooper, Co-Founder & Executive Chairperson of The Cooper Spirits Company. "The alliance is poised to help scale and position us to win in key markets faster than ever and reflects Cooper Spirits' deep commitment to expanding the reach of Slow & Low while amplifying its impact in on/off-premise and national account channels. CMC's expertise in brand building will help us deepen our presence and grow with impact without losing the edge that made Slow & Low what it is today."
"We're thrilled to welcome Cooper Spirits to the Countermeasures portfolio," said Austin Sawyer, CEO of Countermeasures. "Their distinguished history in the spirits industry, exceptional leadership team, and compelling portfolio of products make this an exciting collaboration."
A pioneer in the ready-to-drink space, Hochstadter's Slow & Low, the brand that revived America's original Rock & Rye, was first conceptualized by the late Rob Cooper in 2010, paying homage to America's original bottled cocktail. Slow & Low is available as four bottled and canned expressions; Proper Rye Old-Fashioned, Coffee Old-Fashioned, the recently launched Cherry Old-Fashioned, and Maple Old-Fashioned, as well as a bottled 100-Proof 6-Year Old-Fashioned. Each expression in the portfolio is available in 750ml and 375ml bottles and 100ml cans. Slow & Low was honored by 2025's BevNet Spirits Awards, winning 'RTD of the Year', and has achieved Double Gold wins in the RTD Classic Cocktail category from the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
