NEW YORK, NY (January 22, 2025) – Second Sip, the low-ABV gin with the depth and complexity of a classic London Dry at half the proof, has announced a new U.S. distribution partnership with Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits, the world's preeminent liquor distributor. This partnership marks an important step in Second Sip's expansion, enabling broader access for both on- and off-premise accounts nationwide as the brand looks to enter multiple new markets in the new year.
"We couldn't be happier to partner with Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits," says Sharelle Klaus, Co-Creator of Second Sip. "Their expertise, reach, and dedication to innovation in the industry are unparalleled, and we have tremendous respect for the team. This partnership allows us to bring Second Sip to more people who value quality, balance, and thoughtful imbibing, and we couldn't be more excited to grow the brand with them."
Created by industry leaders Sharelle Klaus, Nick Strangeway and Leo Robitschek, Second Sip was developed to provide a full-flavored gin option at a lower alcohol content (20% ABV). Distilled in small batches at New York Distilling Co., the spirit uses a dual-phase production process to maintain botanical integrity and structure. Key botanicals including juniper, coriander, and angelica are distilled in a copper pot still, while the three citrus elements–lemon, bitter orange, and bergamot peels–are processed separately to ensure balance. After distillation, a concentrated juniper CO2 extract is incorporated to restore depth and mouthfeel often diminished in lower-ABV spirits. Umami from seaweed and a touch of Maldon sea salt further enhance texture and complexity. The result is a layered, aromatic gin designed to perform well in classic cocktails, including gin & tonics, gimlets and martinis.
"From the beginning, Second Sip was created with the belief that great spirits are built through collaboration and care," says Second Sip Co-Creator, Leo Robitschek. "Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits shares that philosophy, making them an ideal partner as we expand our distribution footprint. Together, we're excited to introduce Second Sip to new people while preserving the integrity of what makes the gin special."
Launched this past summer, Second Sip was born when Sharelle challenged Leo to create a gin that delivered the flavor and structure of a London Dry at a lower ABV. Working with Nick, they refined the recipe with feedback from top bartenders around the world, agreeing early on that if it couldn't stand up in a martini, they wouldn't proceed. For the founders, Second Sip isn't about drinking less—it's about connection, celebration, and enjoying great cocktails with more intention, and they have created a spirit that delivers exactly that.
"When we set out to create Second Sip, we wanted to rethink how it fits into modern drinking occasions," says Co-Creator of Second Sip, Nick Strangeway. "Every botanical choice was intentional and the production process executed with precision, resulting in a spirit that's refined, versatile, and rewarding with each pour - hence the name. In that same spirit of intention, our decision to partner with Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits was equally deliberate, allowing us to bring the liquid to more people while staying true to the vision behind the bottle."
Second Sip is currently available at the link below and at select retailers and bars, including Katana Kitten, The Corner Store, and Clemente Bar, with a suggested retail price of $39.99 per 750ml bottle.
