Oxford, Connecticut — February 12th, 2026 — Fizz Social Soda, a new hemp-infused beverage brand, has made waves as Connecticut's first locally produced THC infused Cane Sugar Soda since launching in November. Founded by cannabis entrepreneur Julien Debelle Duplan in partnership with the team behind Black Hog Brewing, Fizz brings a classic soda flavor and approachable take on infused beverages to liquor stores and dispensaries across the state.
Fizz is now launching its own version of a diet cola and is excited to offer a zero calorie/zero sugar option for their customers. Fizz debuted with its first three nostalgic flavors — Lemon-Lime, Orange (mandarin / tangerine), and Black Cherry — all crafted with 100% cane sugar for a clean, crisp taste. Since its launch, Fizz has climbed to be one of the top selling THC drinks in the state.
"I've spent years researching the intersection of retail cannabis and the emerging beverage market," said Debelle Duplan. "With Fizz, our goal was to create a brand that stands out, both with nostalgic flavors and in quality, while meeting the brand standards of even the most seasoned consumer packaged goods executives."
With the market flooded with low to no calorie seltzers, some with low to no taste, Debelle saw an opening for a different indulgence offering. FIZZ 12oz sodas are made with Cane Sugar and natural flavors and drink like your favorite old school pop. "We see a natural switch to this delicious alternative drink when enjoying some wings or pizza and watching the game or at your next hang with friends. Classic Flavors. New Highs."
The team plans to expand beyond Connecticut in the coming months, fueled by strong early interest from distributors and retailers across the country. "We're seeing the kind of energy and momentum you'd expect from a true growth category," Debelle Duplan added. In Connecticut Fizz is available from Serene Craft Distributors out of Bridgeport CT.
In its first year of legal THC beverage sales, Connecticut generated approximately $1.8 million in tax revenue and sold over 77,000 cases statewide. Under the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp-derived beverages containing less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC are federally legal. As of July 1, 2024, Connecticut restricts THC beverage sales to licensed cannabis retailers and package stores. Consumers must be 21 years or older to purchase infused beverages.
