AUSTIN, Texas / February 25, 2026 – Aguasol, the fast-growing, additive-free tequila brand born backstage at a music festival in Austin, Texas, has announced Brandon Lieb as Chief Executive Officer.
Lieb is a global beverage executive and entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience building and scaling category-defining companies. He has a proven track record of accelerating growth, driving innovation, and transforming premium spirits into cultural brands.
"I'm honored to lead the team at Aguasol as we continue building a tequila brand rooted in authenticity, craft, and zero shortcuts," said Lieb. "The success this company has been able to achieve in just two years is truly remarkable and I couldn't be more excited to join such an amazing group as we navigate the next phase of growth."
The hiring news comes on the heels of a notable industry win: Aguasol was recently named the Best Reposado Tequila at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC)—one of the most respected and influential blind tasting competitions in the world—following two Double Gold awards for Aguasol's Blanco and Reposado. Aguasol first launched in 2023 after two Austin natives wanted a better tequila option to sip with friends at music festivals. Charles Attal and Eduardo Margain, the founders of Austin City Limits and Austin FC, respectively, teamed up to solve a common pain point: tequila is fun, until the next morning. Together they created a cleaner and smoother tequila drinking experience focused on quality without pretense—and without additives. Aguasol is proudly produced and bottled at a family-owned distillery in Mexico with four generations of tequila-making expertise.
"We don't take shortcuts with our tequila or our team," said co-founder Charles Attal. "Brandon understands what we've built and where we're headed."
"At the end of the day it's about what's in the bottle," added co-founder Eduardo Margain. "We're committed to creating an additive-free tequila that honors the traditional production process. That standard doesn't change, no matter how much we grow."
Before joining Aguasol as CEO, Lieb served as Global Vice President of Spirits at Gallo, the country's third largest spirits supplier by volume. He led a portfolio that included High Noon, now the number one spirits brand in the U.S., as well as New Amsterdam Vodka, RumChata, Don Fulano Tequila, among other industry-leading brands.
He also founded and scaled Atlantico Rum into an internationally recognized super-premium brand before its acquisition in 2018, and managed both Grey Goose Vodka and Tequila Cazadores to significant growth while at Bacardi.
Aguasol's well-respected Reposado and Blanco tequilas are always additive-free and crafted from just three ingredients: water (agua), sun (sol), and agave, honoring the traditional, time-tested tequila production process while connecting with today's modern drinker. The tequilas are produced in small batches to ensure quality and consistency.
Aguasol is currently available across Texas, Colorado, Illinois, Florida and Maryland, as well as on aguasol.com, with additional market expansion planned for 2026.
