Old Fourth Distillery (O4D), Atlanta’s first legal distillery since Prohibition and the proud home of the city’s original vodka, today announced the rollout of a comprehensive rebrand for its portfolio of spirits. After 12 years in the market, the brand is stepping into its next chapter with a redesigned label, elevated bottle, and a refreshed visual identity—starting with its signature spirit, O4D Vodka. One of the first major investments in O4D since the distillery was acquired by Shortbarrel in 2023, the rebrand marks a moment of evolution and growth for the company, as O4D was recently awarded its second branded bar location at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Touching every element of the brand’s visual identity, including glass, label, logo, and colors, the rebrand will roll out across O4D’s full product portfolio, including Dry Gin and Honey Barrel Aged Gin, with the award-winning Lawn Dart Lemon Ginger Vodka to follow. The new look and feel will first be seen on O4D Vodka, as juxtaposing art deco aesthetics and a modernistic vibe adorn a new bottle that is a meaningful upgrade in both form and function. With its elongated and stately shape, the updated glass silhouette is both refined and premium, making it better suited for back-bar placement and the upscale retail environments where O4D Vodka is increasingly found.
At the heart of the new label is a reimagined version of the “stacks” imagery, a nod to a building of deep significance in Atlanta’s history and a symbol that traces back to O4D’s original logo. The Stacks in the Cabbagetown (formerly the Fulton Bag and Cotton Mills) neighborhood of Atlanta is a historically significant 19th-century industrial complex.
Founded in 1881 by Jacob Elsas, it was a major Atlanta employer and the heart of a “mill village” for workers. The site is famous for its iconic 71-foot tower, red-brick architecture, and 1990s redevelopment, which is prominently displayed on the O4D label.
“This rebrand is about honoring where we come from while stepping confidently into what’s next,” said Mitch Brown, Director of Marketing at Old Fourth Distillery & Shortbarrel. “Atlanta has always been at the core of who we are—from the neighborhood we’re named for to the imagery on our bottle. This new look reflects the pride we take in THE ATL.”
Designed to reach both loyal fans and new audiences discovering O4D for the first time, Old Fourth Distillery will activate the new brand identity in a digital media campaign across Meta platforms and connected TV via MNTN, expected to go live by mid-May.
Founded in 2014, Old Fourth Distillery became Atlanta’s first legal distillery since Prohibition, establishing a reputation for crafting spirits that reflect the character of the city. In 2023, Shortbarrel acquired Old Fourth Distillery, marking the next chapter of growth for the brand. Today, that same commitment to quality carries forward in O4D Vodka. Distilled from sugar cane and produced to the team’s exacting specifications, each batch is distilled five times and charcoal-filtered to achieve a smooth, crisp, and clean profile. While production has expanded beyond the original Old Fourth Ward facility, every decision, from distillation to final blend, remains rooted in Atlanta’s historic, unique, and diverse community.
Grain-free and gluten-free, O4D Vodka is bottled at 80 proof. With a suggested retail price of $19.99 for a 750 ml bottle, O4D Vodka is currently available in on- and off-premise accounts throughout Georgia, with online availability beginning in mid-May at O4D.COM. New 1L and 1.75L bottle formats will be rolled out in the coming months. The expression is also featured in the O4D Bloody Mary, available at both O4D locations at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
