New Sauvignon Blanc Brings a Bright, Refreshing Expression to the Pioneering ARIEL Vineyards Collection
SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Family-owned and operated J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines announces the introduction of the 2025 ARIEL Sauvignon Blanc, a new, premium, alcohol-removed wine joining the ARIEL Vineyards' portfolio. Crafted to deliver the bright, refreshing varietal character associated with Sauvignon Blanc, the new release offers consumers another alcohol-removed choice. This addition further demonstrates J. Lohr's longstanding commitment to quality, innovation, and creating alcohol and alcohol-removed wines for a broad range of occasions.
2025 ARIEL Sauvignon Blanc
ARIEL Vineyards has been at the forefront of the alcohol-removed wine category for more than four decades, bringing traditional winegrowing expertise to a market sector that is dramatically gaining share in today's evolving wine culture. ARIEL Sauvignon Blanc adds one of the world's most popular white wine varieties to the portfolio and gives consumers another sophisticated option when they want to enjoy and share a glass of wine without alcohol.
According to the Adult Non-Alcoholic Beverage Association, 92% of adults who buy adult beverages without alcohol also purchase ones containing alcohol. Reflecting growing interest in the category, sales of ARIEL Vineyards have increased 16.7%, since last year, according to Nielsen IQ, 52-week period ending August 8, 2026. "At J. Lohr, we want everyone to feel welcome at the table and to share in the joy of commemorating special moments by the raising of a glass of wine," said J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines Co-owner and Chief Brand Officer Cynthia Lohr. "Sauvignon Blanc is one of the key white varietals showing consistent growth and consumer interest. We're poised to capture this growth and delight fans of wines from ARIEL Vineyards with another delicious, alcohol-removed choice."
ARIEL Sauvignon Blanc begins with grapes selected for their bright kiwi and lemon-zest fruit character, natural acidity, and varietal expression. The fruit is harvested at optimal ripeness and made into wine using traditional winemaking techniques, then the alcohol is gently removed by reverse osmosis. Jerry Lohr and his team first patented this process when launching the tier in 1985. The resulting wine preserves the freshness and aromatic personality that make Sauvignon Blanc so appealing while delivering an alcohol-removed expression suited to contemporary lifestyles.
ARIEL Vineyards' history is closely tied to the Lohr family's pioneering approach to winegrowing and winemaking, and ARIEL Vineyards is a globally recognized leader in the alcohol-removed wine category. It has earned USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice Awards for Best Non-Alcoholic Wine in 2024 and 2025, a 2026 SIP Awards Platinum medal for ARIEL Cabernet Sauvignon and a Double Gold for ARIEL Chardonnay, and a "People's Choice" honor from the PACK Design Awards for its recent new-package debut.
The 2025 ARIEL Sauvignon Blanc contains just 21 calories per 5 oz. serving and zero grams of added sugar. This new release begins shipping in September 2026 with a $13 suggested retail price.
