DENVER, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Stranahan's®, the number one1 and most-awarded2 American single malt whiskey, today announced an addition to its Mountain Angel family: Mountain Angel 14-Year-Old, its oldest release to date. Finished in rare Tokaji wine casks from Hungary, the new whiskey joins the 10- and 12-year-old expressions, showcasing the distillery's expertise in extended, high-altitude aging and standing among the very oldest American single malts available today.

Handcrafted from grain to bottle at Stranahan's Distillery in Denver, Mountain Angel 14-Year-Old tells a story of patience, place and evolution through three distinct casks. Made from 100% malted barley, its journey begins with 10 years in new charred American white oak barrels, followed by three years and three months in Cognac casks and a final nine-month finish in Tokaji wine casks. At a mile above sea level, extended aging comes with a generous angel's share—the whiskey lost naturally to evaporation—leaving behind a liquid rich with character and depth. The Tokaji finish adds a balance of sweetness and acidity prior to cutting with Eldorado Spring water from the Colorado Rocky Mountains.

"Our Mountain Angel family reflects more than 22 years of pioneering the American single malt category and our commitment to showing what aging a mile above sea level can achieve," said Stranahan's Head Blender Justin Aden. "In this bottle, Hungarian Tokaji casks beautifully complement Stranahan's naturally fruity character, adding a richness to the mouthfeel that balances the oak spice developed over 14 total years of aging."

Bottled at 94.6 proof, Mountain Angel 14-Year-Old opens with aromas of candied apricot, orange marmalade, prune and raisin. The palate layers baked apple and stone fruits with vanilla, caramel, rich tobacco and lingering pepper, with a velvety mouthfeel. Tropical notes, rich chocolate and drying oak spice round out the finish.

Mountain Angel 10-Year-Old highlights maturation in new charred American white oak, while Mountain Angel 12-Year-Old features a Port cask finish. With the addition of the 14-Year-Old, the Mountain Angel family now offers fans three distinct expressions that demonstrate how time and cask influence can shape Stranahan's longest-aged whiskeys.

Mountain Angel 14-Year-Old will launch in October 2026 at a suggested retail price of $129.99 per 750 ml bottle. The release will initially be available at Stranahan's Distillery in Denver, Stranahan's Whiskey Lodge in Aspen and select retailers in Colorado, California, Texas and Florida, with national rollout in the following months. For more information, visit Stranahan's website.

About Stranahan's American Single Malt Whiskey

Stranahan's American Single Malt Whiskey is the number-one and most-awarded American single malt. Founded more than 20 years ago as a category pioneer, its American single malt whiskey is composed of 100% malted barley and cut with Eldorado Spring water, aged in new American white oak barrels. From grain to glass, Stranahan's whiskey is distilled and bottled at its Colorado distillery, the state's first legal distillery since Prohibition.

The brand opened Stranahan's Whiskey Lodge in Aspen in 2024, near where Stranahan's first whiskey was made more than two decades ago. Lodge guests can enjoy innovative cocktails, elevated alpine-inspired bites and pours of rare American single malt whiskey among majestic mountain views.

Stranahan's expressions include Original, Blue Peak, Sherry Cask, Diamond Peak, Mountain Angel 10-Year-Old, Mountain Angel 12-Year-Old, Mountain Angel 14-Year-Old, Aspen Exclusive Sauternes Cask, Snowflake (the ultra-limited-edition annual release) and a series of distillery and experimental exclusives. As one of the first American single malts, Stranahan's is committed to building recognition and admiration for the category globally. To learn more, visit stranahans.com.
