AQUA Carpatica Makes its U.S. Debut at Sprouts

35612_160420404002535_131013640276545_309675_3204106_nNEW YORK, July 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — AQUA Carpatica, the world’s only nitrate-free naturally sparkling mineral water, is pleased to announce today the U.S. launch of its naturally sparkling mineral and still spring varieties.  With its U.S. market introduction at Sprouts Farmers Market Stores, AQUA Carpatica will continue to elevate the conversation about nitrates in drinking water, raising awareness and discussion regarding stricter content labeling in the U.S. and nitrate consumption by pregnant women and infants.

AQUA Carpatica offers naturally untouched mineral and spring waters of the highest quality, generated from a unique land deep within the Carpathian Mountains, one of the remaining untamed forests of Eastern Europe. Purified by nature, AQUA Carpatica is sourced from two springs located over 200 meters underground. With no agriculture or industrial activity in the surrounding areas, it’s like going back to a time before chemicals, fertilizers, CFCs and other contaminants even existed. In these ancient springs, there are no processing plants, no human interference – only the purest water, as natural today as it was at the beginning of time.

Aqua Carpatica’s naturally sparkling mineral water is sourced from the Paltinis aquifer, where a blanket of metamorphic rocks surrounds and protects a naturally sparkling mineral spring, totally free from nitrate pollution or any other chemical, microbiological or physical impurity. The still spring water is derived from the Bajenaru aquifer, which is located about 1km away. This aquifer is the result of similar geological phenomena, consisting of porous formations surrounded by metamorphic ones. The still water is harvested at the surface using the latest environmentally friendly technology that allows for its unmatched purity to be preserved. The still spring water is free of impurities, with a very low nitrate concentration.

“We are so proud to be the first brand to bring nitrate-free sparkling mineral water to the U.S. consumer, offering an alternative to the hidden nitrates found in existing water brands,” said Jean Valvis, President and General Director of Valvis Holding, AQUA Carpatica’s parent company. “Like Sprouts, we are a brand committed to the health and safety of our customers, and we will work passionately towards raising awareness regarding questions related to the content of drinking water both in the U.S. and around the world.”

Nitrate Awareness
AQUA Carpatica is dedicated to educating consumers regarding the dangers of nitrates in drinking water, as exemplified by the brand’s international campaigns enacted to inform the public about the content of their drinking water.

With its launch in Romania, AQUA Carpatica fought to enact a new law requiring companies to list nitrate concentration on every water label, and also campaigned to lower the maximum allowed nitrate concentration in drinking water to levels recommended by medical professionals in countries throughout the EU. AQUA Carpatica’s “Vote for Purity” campaign went viral and the “Purity Law” is now under consideration by Parliament. Both Campaigns won the prestigious 2014 European Marketing Effie Award and 2015 The Grand Effie Award.

In the U.S., there is currently no regulation regarding nitrates and infants that differs from the 10 mg/l NO3-N Maximum Contaminant Level limit for adults (50 mg/l N according to the EU measurements), whereas countries like Austria, France, Germany, and Italy have enacted protective legislation requiring nitrate content lower than 2.27 mg/l NO3-N (10 mg/l N according to the EU measurements) in order to claim the product is healthy for infants.

Health Benefits
Nitrate-free and naturally sparkling, AQUA Carpatica Natural Sparkling Mineral Water has a range of health benefits. Due to its unique concentration of calcium and magnesium, it is particularly suited for athletes and people with high levels of physical activity, and its naturally sparkling attributes also help aid in digestion.

AQUA Carpatica Spring Water (Still) has a low mineral content and, unlike widely-recognized competing waters, has a very low concentration of nitrates at only 0.14 mg/l NO3-N. Due to this extremely low nitrate content, AQUA Carpatica is an excellent choice for pregnant women, young children and infants.

Both the sparkling and still varieties are also naturally free of sodium, which makes AQUA Carpatica the perfect choice for people on a low sodium diet, or for those suffering from high blood pressure.

AQUA Carpatica is launching at Sprouts Farmers Market stores in the United States, with national availability to follow. Currently, AQUA Carpatica is seeing great success in international markets including Romania, China, United Kingdom and Germany with more markets to be announced in 2015.

About AQUA Carpatica
AQUA Carpatica comes from springs deep within the Carpathian Mountains – an ancient land where time seems to stand still, leaving only the pristine beauty of nature and history. It’s the last wild forest in Europe, and with no agriculture or industrial activity in the surrounding areas, it’s like going back to a time before chemicals, fertilizers, CFCs and other contaminants even existed.

With AQUA Carpatica, purity and taste go hand in hand. Millions of years of volcanic activity have filtered impurities at the source, and endowed our water with its unrivaled flavor. Natural minerals carbonate AQUA Carpatica’s sparkling water – the only nitrate-free, naturally sparkling water on Earth – and while the spring water is also exceptionally low in nitrates, both waters are sodium-free.

The springs that provide the foundation for AQUA Carpatica have been preserved from the beginning of time and they’ll be protected for thousands of years more. Taste AQUA Carpatica, a taste bestowed by nature, a spring safeguarded by nature.
