Experienced Marketer Joins Sonoma Brands to Revitalize Industry with ‘Souping’ On-The-Go
Sonoma, Calif. (October 5, 2016) – Sonoma Brands, a one-of-a-kind consumer products incubator and venture fund founded by Jon Sebastiani, announces Jennifer Berliner as its first brand-specific hire for ZÜPA NOMA, the first brand launched by the company. Berliner will serve as Director of Marketing and will be responsible for defining brand messaging and setting marketing strategy for the ‘whole without the bowl’ brand.
Berliner joins ZÜPA NOMA with vast experience in brand strategy and execution of channel and customer specific marketing programs. Most recently, she led Shopper Marketing at top national retailers for three of PepsiCo’s $1.5B+ food & beverage brand portfolios: LiptonTea, Hydration, and Frito-Lay multipack snacks. Throughout her time at PepsiCo, Berliner progressed quickly through roles on teams managing SoBe, Manzanita Sol, Mug Root Beer and Foodservice innovation, gaining expertise in brand building, optimizing growth strategies and developing data-driven innovation.

Berliner earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and French from Vanderbilt University and went on to graduate from the MBA program at Yale School of Management. While at Yale, Berliner served on the Yale Center for Customer Insights consulting team for Google Food, where she generated insights into employee eating habits through interviews and field research and provided recommendations to the company. Prior to joining PepsiCo, Berliner developed integrated marketing campaigns and strategies in various roles at GMMB, a communications strategy firm in Washington, D.C., for clients, such as Visa, Inc., American Public Transportation Association and BlueCross BlueShield Association.
