BevNET Review: Splendalicious. This sugar-free energy soda is definitely one of the best tasting diet energy drinks out there, with a strong resemblance to Mountain Dew, a lack of chemical flavoring and a well-formulated sucralose/ace-K mix that doesn’t leave much of an aftertaste. Absolutely worth a try for those who are sick of standard energy drink flavors – and the calories that accompany them. However, the branding is the true downfall of this product. The MDX name and the busy packaging will not lure in consumers who are not already users of Mountain Dew products.Reviewed on: 11/14/2005

MDX Original

Product Type:Carbonated Soft Drink: Regular; Container: 14 fl oz (414 mL) PET bottle
BevNET Review: Fructilicious. With perhaps a little more melon than Mountain Dew, and certainly a lot more green, this “energy soda” has all you want in a run-of-the-mill citrus-flavored product, and more, including guarana, caffeine, taurine and ginseng. But a lack of carbonation combines with the high-fructose corn syrup to create an extra-thick mouthfeel and the sensation that, a few minutes after drinking it, you’re still drinking it. But it’s bound to be a “must-try” for any Mountain Dew fan, and as an energy drink that doesn’t taste like a standard energy drink, it’s definitely worth considering.Reviewed on: 11/14/2005
