Haiti Hope

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 15.2 oz PET
BevNET Review: We’ve seen lots of products with charitable intentions behind them, but this is the first that we can remember to use an original flavor to do it rather than recycling an old one. In this case, the product is a 25 percent juice blend that utilizes only four ingredients: water, mango puree, organic evaporated cane juice, and lime juice. The resulting flavor is extremely enjoyable, albeit sweet, with the mango and lime flavors working perfectly together and still managing to maintain their fresh fruit flavor. Packaging is standard fare Odwalla, with the most notable change being the “100% profits to Haiti Hope Project” text and logo. While their efforts, which are focused on helping to create sustainable mango farming, are certainly appreciated, making the flavor name more easily identifiable would likely help sell more of this product. Otherwise, the current rendition is one of the cleaner looking Odwalla designs. Overall, a very enjoyable product. Reviewed on: 5/10/2010

Wholly Grain! Tropical Medley

Product Type:Juice: Smoothie; Container:
BevNET Review: Pumping a drink full of whole grains is a "function" that we haven't seen too much of, so we were anxious to give Odwalla's new Tropical Medley a try. By adding whole grain brown rice, the product is able to deliver 16 grams of whole grains per serving, which also seems to have some impact to the flavor. While the majority of the flavor comes from the fruit that has been added (orange juice, pineapple juice, mango puree, banana puree, passionfruit, and coconut), the product has a gritty finish and a slightly off note that we have to guess is from the brown rice. However, as you drink it, the tropical fruit flavor washes it away and it's about on par with other Odwalla drinks. Really, our biggest gripe with the flavor is how processed it feels, resulting in a taste that doesn't really seem better than most shelf-stable drinks. As for the outside, the product has a very busy label, with text covering just about every available section of the front panel. We'd certainly like to see it cut down a bit. Furthermore, selling whole grains in liquid form is going to take some convincing, especially since these whole grains come with 200 calories and 27g of sugar per serving (and at two servings per bottle, that's a pretty good meal if you chug the whole thing). Overall, it's an interesting concept, but one whose health benefits seem at odds with the caloric formula that's currently in the bottle.Reviewed on: 11/9/2009

All of this combines for a whopping 2000% RDI of Vitamin C to help boost the immune system, protect cells, and help with Calcium absorption. Overall, this product is just plain awesome in flavor and health benefits. Definitely try C Monster. Reviewed on: 11/11/2009

Serious Energy

Product Type:Functional: Energy Drink: Regular; Container: 15.2 fl oz (450ml) plastic
BevNET Review: For a product called Serious Energy, we were a bit surprised that the product tastes like "serious juice" rather than an energy drink. Then again, that's really what's in this product -- pineapple juice, mango puree, passion fruit juice. The "serious energy" is being derived from ginseng, yerba mate, green tea and guarana, but it seems to be a pretty light dose at best. From a taste point of view, it's not bad, and the 45% juice base gives the product a pretty natural taste that finishes up with earthy tones of mate and green tea. Then again, there's no energy flavor, which will certainly hurt the product credibility as an energy product. Overall, a nice tasting juice, but it needs more "energy" taste if it's going to be a real contender.Reviewed on: 9/19/2007

Wellness

Product Type:Juice: Juice Drink; Container: 15.2 fl oz plastic
BevNET Review: Wellness, which is an "Echinacea Fruit Juice Drink" is basically a product that features a variety of fruit flavors with an herbal finish. It's a decent flavor if you don't mind the herbal aspect of the product. It has a base of orange and tangerine juices which definitely gives the product a citrus type of taste. Overall, a good product but we'd probably reach for one of the other flavors that doesn't have as much herbal finish.Reviewed on: 7/22/2003

Super Protein 2003

Product Type:Juice: Smoothie; Container: 15.2 fl oz
BevNET Review: Super Protein 2003 is a protein shake made with 90% fruit juice, including apple, orange, tangerine, and banans. Our honest opinion is that this flavor is just a bit too much. The addition of the protein (and other enhancers) gives the product a strong flavor that takes away from the fruit base. The only thing that we really liked about this product was the splash of coconut as it gives this product a nice finish. We'd go back to the drawing board on this one -- it's just too weird.Reviewed on: 7/22/2003

Strawberry Banana

Blueberry B Monster

Product Type:Juice: Smoothie; Container: 15.2 fl oz plastic
BevNET Review: It's about time that Odwalla made a smoothie that's focused on blueberry. This version definitely hits the nail on the head and was a big hit with our review panel. Especially popular were the hints of mango, banana, and grape flavors which provided a nice complement to tart taste of the blueberries. Overall, this product is quite refreshing and a nice change from many of the other flavors of Odwalla that tend to have similar styles.Reviewed on: 7/22/2003

Mango Tango

Product Type:Juice: Smoothie; Container: 15.2 fl oz plastic
BevNET Review: Mango Tango is made with a base of 88% juice, including mango, banana, apple, orange, coconut, and lemon juices/purees. The predominant flavor, however, is banana. Not only does its flavor stand out the most, but it also gives the beverage a slightly thick consistency. Mango Tango is sweet, but not overpowering, and it has a nice subtle tartness that comes from the citrus fruits used in this beverage. Simply stated, this beverage is the perfect selection if you are looking for a truly satisfying sweet fruit beverage. Real fruit juice won't let you down.Reviewed on: 6/15/2003

Pure Squeezed Lemonade

Product Type:Juice: Fruit Juice; Container: 15.2 fl oz plastic
BevNET Review: How can you get better than this? Pure Squeezed Lemonade is a simple formula that uses lemon juice and water as the base and is then sweetened with cane juice and honey. The resulting flavor has a very nice fresh-squeezed lemonade flavor with a mild honey finish. It's really good stuff!Reviewed on: 5/27/2003

Summertime Lime Quencher

Product Type:Juice: Smoothie; Container: 15.2 fl oz plastic
BevNET Review: We're not quite sure what they did to tweak this flavor, but whatever they did it really worked. This product is essentially a limeade beverage with a very sweet lime flavor. Superfood

Product Type:Juice: Smoothie; Container: 15.2 fl oz plastic
BevNET Review: Don't let the thick fungus green appearance of Superfood scare you (didn't that sound familiar?). We really don't what gives it the hideous green color, but the flavor of the beverage comes from an apple and banana base (those are the most predominant flavors). It has some crunchy bits in the beverage (we don't want to know what they are) that give it a very interesting consistency. Don't get us wrong - Superfood is an enjoyable and refreshing beverage. We suggest that you don''t look at it the first time (so that you don't get distracted by the green color). This is a highly recommended beverage.Reviewed on: 5/15/2003

MO' Beta

Product Type:Juice: Smoothie; Container: 15.2 fl oz plastic
BevNET Review: Don't let the thick orange appearance of MO' Beta scare you....it tastes much better than it looks. Actually, the taste is superb. It has a sweet orange juice base that has been combined with a variety of other fruit juices, including apple, peach, plum, mango, and pineapple. It has a fairly thick consistency. So thick, in fact, that we would label this flavor as a smoothie rather than a fruit juice beverage. This stuff is very taste. While the price of this beverage will be a little higher than that of a non-perishable beverage, it is certainly worth it. A highly recommended fruit beverage.Reviewed on: 5/15/2003
