BevNET Review

Roar’s “Sucker Punch” is the fruit punch flavor of their three flavor coconut water-based sports drink lineup. Like the Venom Punch flavor, this is a strong -- albeit literal -- adaptation of the classic sports drink flavor. Yes, they’ve added coconut water, but it seems to have only minimal impact with the flavor. Honestly, we like this approach better than making it seem like a blend of the two, in which case it’s neither a good coconut water drink or a good sports drink. Added B vitamins round out the functional blend, which is, depending on where you look on the bottle, designed for either energy, alertness, and focus, or hydration, energy, and performance. We hope that Roar can simplify and perhaps reduce some of the text on the front of the bottle. The overall design, which is centered around the Roar name and logo, feel good, but there’s simply too much clutter around it. In addition, we’re not that fond of the flavor name (who wants to hold something called “Sucker Punch”?) and its treatment (which is hard to read). We don’t mean that to sound negative about the product -- we genuinely do like what they’ve created -- but there’s definitely some room for improvement with it.
