BOULDER, CO – Consumers have discovered pure Clementine refreshment.
IZZE® Beverage Company, a leader in the Sparkling Juice market, recently completed market testing for their latest refreshing flavor – Sparkling Clementine – and the response was astounding.
“After a year of fantastic success with our four original flavors, we asked IZZE® lovers what they would like most in a new IZZE® Sparkling Juice. A natural orange flavor was the answer,” says Greg Stroh, a co-founder of IZZE.
The Clementine is a variety of Mandarin orange that existed before the 20th century in China. Clementines were brought to this country by the Citrus Research Center in Riverside, California, as early as 1909. “Clementines were selected because they exhibit the perfect balance between the sweetness of a Valencia orange and the tartness of a tangerine.” says Todd Woloson, President of IZZE® Beverage Company and also a co-founder.
IZZE® is a new, all-natural sparkling fruit juice inspired by European sodas – A pure and simple blend of 100 percent fruit juice and sparkling water.
IZZE® contains no added sugars, caffeine, preservatives or artificial flavors. One bottle of IZZE® Sparkling Fruit Juice provides a full serving of fruit along with the hydration of natural spring water.
The natural sparkling juice company unveiled its new Sparkling Clementine last November in select cities as its latest all-natural beverage. The flavor quickly sold out in most markets.
“We had a good feeling about IZZE® Sparkling Clementine,” says Scott Lebon, President of New Age Beverage – one of IZZE’s distribution partners, “but we had no idea the response would be this great. We can’t wait to include this flavor in our regular inventory.”
Due to such overwhelming demand, IZZE® has decided to add Sparkling Clementine to the existing IZZE flavors: Sparkling Lemon, Sparkling Pear, Sparkling Blackberry and Sparkling Grapefruit. It will be available in most markets in early 2004.

Will IZZE® introduce any more flavors after Sparkling Clementine? “That’s a good question,” says Drew Grumhaus, IZZE’s Vice-President of Product Development. “We’ll just have to wait and see.”

It is also available in regional natural food stores, Whole Foods, grocery stores, gourmet delis and local food stores in Colorado, California, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Chicago and Detroit. IZZE is sold in 4-packs and in single-serve, 12-ounce glass bottles. Suggested retail price is $1.39-$1.49 per bottle or $4.99 per 4-pack. A new 16-ounce bottle will be available in 2004 along with an 8-ounce can.
