SALISBURY, N.C. (February 6, 2008) – This Valentine’s Day, New Yorkers may find themselves asking Cheerwine to “Be Mine.” Cheerwine, North Carolina‘s original cherry different soft drink, will spread its cheer in the Big Apple as part of a multi-day promotional event at Bloomingdale’s. The iconic southern brand has been selected by Bloomingdale’s to help celebrate the new men’s denim and sneaker floor opening at the company’s flagship 59th St., New York City store.
Events will be held on Thursday, February 14, from 5 – 8 p.m. EST and Saturday, February 16 from 1 – 4 p.m. EST, featuring DJs, a Cheerwine raffle, a viewing party for the University of North Carolina vs. Virginia Tech game on Saturday and plenty of Cheerwine and Southern hospitality.
The Cheerwine fun won’t stop there. Look for the Cheerwine team sharing Southern love, charm and Cheerwine – maybe even a few hugs – around the city February 13-16.
“In our 90 years of history, Cheerwine has been discovered and cherished by consumers all over the country, but this event with Bloomingdale’s will mark our first foray into New York City,” said Tom Barbitta, vice president of marketing for Cheerwine. “We are excited to offer Bloomingdale’s shoppers and New Yorkers a taste of the South with our one-of-a-kind soft drink.”
