MINNEAPOLIS, MN–(February 3, 2016) – ASPIRE Beverage Company announces Minnesota linebacker Chad Greenway as its newest partner and shareholder. Greenway joins Minnesota hockey player Ryan Suter and other high-profile investors. The partnership with Greenway further signals the company’s growing momentum as it expands on a national level.
A first-round draft pick, Greenway has been a top performer in the National Football League (NFL) since his rookie season with the Minnesota Vikings in 2006-2007. Greenway is a two-time Pro Bowl selection (2012-2013). He received the Ed Block Courage Award in 2007 and was the NFC Combined Tackles Leader in 2010. Prior to his professional career, Greenway played for the University of Iowa where he was a two-time All-American selection.
“As a professional athlete that is also a father with kids that are involved in youth sports, I’m always looking for new products that are both healthy and taste great,” said Chad Greenway. “My wife introduced our family to ASPIRE. She’s very health conscious and pays close attention to what we put in our bodies. Also, she’s an athlete, so she understands the importance of sports nutrition and hydration for performance.”
Greenway’s wife, Jennifer (Capista) Greenway, was a track and field athlete at the University of Iowa. Currently, she is a trainer at the YMCA and Tiger Athletics in Plymouth where she was initially introduced to ASPIRE sports drinks.
“As I’ve matured as a professional athlete, I understand that we are role models and need to show a good example,” said Greenway. “I’m proud to be associated with a company that is committed to improving the health and performance of athletes. I was drawn to ASPIRE by the quality of its products and the importance of its mission.”
Off the field, Greenway has been involved in a variety of community initiatives with a focus on children’s health. His Lead the Way Foundation provides seriously ill and physically challenged children with daily support and life changing experiences. In the 2015 season, Greenway was named as the Vikings’ Community Man of the Year for a second consecutive year. He was also recently named as the Minnesota Vikings’ nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award, recognizing NFL players for excellence on and off the field.
“We’re honored to welcome Chad to our ASPIRE team,” said Jesse Parker, Co-Founder and CEO of ASPIRE Beverage Company. “He is a class act and a great role model for youth athletes.”
The popularity and demand for ASPIRE sports drinks has grown steadily since the Minnesota company launched in 2012. Its products are currently sold across the United States at retailers, schools, sports facilities and fitness centers. ASPIRE sports drinks were recently featured as the “Official Sports Drink” on the sidelines of the Under Armour All-America Football Game (top high school players) that aired on ESPN2 on January 2. On Friday, February 5, the company’s products will be featured as the “Official Sports Drink” of the All-Star Football Challenge (top college players), also airing on ESPN2.
To accelerate growth and expand nationwide, the company is actively developing new partnerships with distributors and retailers throughout the country.
