Evolution Fresh Elevates Ryan Ziegelmann to General Manager


Ryan Ziegelmann is the new General Manager for Starbucks-owned cold pressed juice brand Evolution Fresh. Ziegelmann, who was named GM in May, has been with Starbucks since 2010, where he started as VP of Finance, Global Marketing, Category and Strategic Pricing.

From 2012, he served as Vice President of Finance and Strategic Pricing for the Starbucks Global Channel Development segment, as well as region lead for Latin America CPG. Prior to joining Starbucks, Ziegelmann worked as Vice President of Sales Finance at WhiteWave Foods and a Sales Director at PepsiCo. A graduate of Colorado State University, Ziegelmann took over the reins for Evolution Fresh following the departure of president Jeff Hansberry in February.


Tom Hicks Leaves VEB

Thomas Hicks has departed the Venturing & Emerging Brands (VEB) unit of The Coca-Cola Company.

Hicks, who was a senior vice president at fruit juice and soda brand Hansen’s Natural, joined VEB in June, 2015 following Coca-Cola’s acquisition of a 16.7 percent stake in Monster Beverage Corporation. Coca-Cola agreed at the time to absorb Monster’s non-energy drink portfolio as part of the deal.

VEB focuses on investment in and incubation of beverage brands that show potential for inclusion in Coca-Cola’s portfolio. In an interview with BevNET, Hicks said he opted to leave VEB after the consolidation of sales teams at the company. “Coke put together the VEB sales team and the Hansen’s sales team, which means now you only need one leader,” said Hicks.


Frank Hood Joins Veggemo

Global Gardens Group have appointed Frank P. Hood as VP of U.S. Business Development for vegetable-based non-dairy beverage brand Veggemo.

Hood’s most recent role was leading the Wholesale Club channel at Beverage Holdings, owners of brands such as Sunny Delight and Veryfine, as well as managing the Sunny Delight line in Canada. He previously worked on creating product and category strategies for the Tropicana brand at PepsiCo.

“We are thrilled to have Frank join the Global Gardens team,” said Global Gardens Group President and CEO Rob Harrison in a press release. “Frank’s compelling background and history of delivering results through the customer is a tremendous asset for the company as we launch Veggemo in the large U.S. market.”
