Spindrift Beverage Co. has completed a $7.2 million raise, according to an SEC filing.
The fast-growing soda and seltzer company was founded in 2010 by Bill Creelman, who previously founded the cocktail mixer brand Stirrings.
In the past year the company has gained momentum, launching its seltzer in cans as well as bottles and moved into new offices in Waltham, Mass. It has also added staff, including a chief marketing officer, Strick Walker, who left a global marketing post at Patagonia to join the company.
Creelman would not comment on the new round, noting that it was only “to support growth.” The investment followed an initial $2 million investment from Prolog Ventures in 2014.
