Harmless Harvest CEO Giannella Alvarez has stepped down, according to the company, leaving the coconut water brand earlier this month.
“We’re thankful for Giannella’s contribution to Harmless Harvest,” a company spokesman told BevNET. “She played an important role during a key period in our company’s history and we are grateful for the leadership she provided. We wish her well in her continued pursuits.”
Alvarez joined Harmless Harvest in September 2015, having held prior positions at Procter & Gamble, Kimberly-Clark, and Del Monte Foods. During her tenure, the company transitioned away from high pressure processing (HPP) in an effort to improve food safety and introduced a new line of probiotic coconut yogurt drinks.
The company does have interim leadership, according to Harmless Harvest employees, who would not name the interim CEO.
According to her LinkedIn, Alvarez currently serves as director of the board for both Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Domtar Corporation.
Harmless Harvest is currently in search of a new CEO.
BevNET has reached out to Alvarez for comment but has not yet heard back.
