PepsiCo’s YACHAK Rebrands as ‘Plant-Based Energy Tea’

PepsiCo-owned yerba mate brand Yachak Organic has rolled out a rebrand for its line of 16 oz. beverages. The refresh presents not just an entirely new visual identity for the brand, which launched in 2017 as a subsidiary of Rockstar Energy, but also aims to more firmly position the drink in the energy space.

As the yerba mate category targets mainstream growth, PepsiCo senior director of marketing Aziel Rivers said in a press release that the new packaging emphasizes “consumer interests” and allows the drink’s organic ingredients to “speak for themselves.” The five-SKU line — available in Berry Blue, Berry Red, Blackberry, Passionfruit and Ultimate Mint flavors — is available nationwide in retail and online and retails for $2.59-$2.79 per 16 oz. can.
