Expo West 2023 Gallery: Liquid Death Does Tea; Health-Ade, Brew Dr. Revamp

Sparkling or still, real dairy or plant, sweetened or not – however you take your iced tea, there was something for your taste at this year’s Expo West. Meanwhile in kombucha, the shift away from glass bottles continued to pick up pace. In this gallery, we highlight some of the notable new releases and updates from leading brands in both categories, including Health-Ade, Brew Dr., and the just-arrived Liquid Death.

Health-Ade

In-glass fermentation has been a staple of Health-Ade’s production process since the beginning, but that doesn’t apply to packaging. Like most others major names in the category have done, the California-based kombucha brand is introducing a 12 oz. can format this spring, starting with 4-packs of its top four flavors — Ginger Lemon, Pink Lady Apple, Pomegranate and Passionfruit Tangerine — and later shifting into singles.

Just Iced Tea Flavors

Only a few months after hitting store shelves last fall, Just Ice Tea has expanded its range of organic products with three new flavors: Mango White Tea, Original Black Tea and Lemon Ginger Herbal Tea. Each 12 oz. glass bottle carries an SRP of $2.69.

Remedy

Remedy continues to build out the U.S. presence for its shelf-stable canned kombuchas with Orange Splash, the newest flavor on display at Expo West.

Liquid Death

BevNET’s 2022 Brand of the Year used Expo West to formally launch its previously announced first non-water product, a 3-SKU line of flavored iced teas in 19.2 oz cans: Armless Palmer, Rest in Peach and Grim Leafer. Similar to the brand’s flavored sparkling waters launched last year, the teas are sweetened with agave, while packing 30 calories, 30mg caffeine, B vitamins and 6 grams of sugar per can. The release is part of the company’s ambitious growth plans for this year, which also include a shift to U.S. production for its waters.

TWRL

A BevNET Award winner in 2022, milk tea maker TWRL shared a taste of its newest flavor: Ube, which features sustainably sourced, caffeine-free mulberry leaf tea and is nitrogen infused.

The BAD Tea Co.

Formerly known as Chatty Matcha, The BAD Tea Co. made its Expo West debut with an expanded product line, including nitro chai and Yuzu + Tea flavors, the latter intended as a unique riff on a classic Arnold Palmer. Each 7.5 oz. can contains 35 calories and 80 mg of caffeine. The company’s original nitro matcha drink remains, too.

Sparkling Botanicals By Rishi

Known for developing unique flavors without deploying sweeteners, Rishi Tea’s family of sparkling botanical drinks continues to expand with the introduction of Blue Tea Jasmine.

Brew Dr.

Portland, Oregon-based Brew Dr Kombucha used Expo West to debut its new packaging design.

Enroot

Enroot’s family of culinary influenced, organic sparkling cold brewed teas is expanding with the addition of Mango Ginger Turmeric.
