Sollos Yerba Mate, which has a single Pineapple + Coconut SKU at the time of this review, is a lightly carbonated, 12-ounce yerba mate beverage reportedly connected to Barron Trump that’s launching exclusively with Gopuff.
Things that stand out:
- The earthy character of yerba mate provides a solid base for the pineapple and coconut notes. The sweetness is mellow, and the blend of cane sugar (9 grams), honey and monk fruit produces little noticeable sweetener aftertaste.
- At 120 milligrams of caffeine, Sollos offers a meaningful boost of energy while keeping calories and sugar relatively restrained. The inclusion of 3% pineapple juice also gives it a modest connection to real fruit.
- The light blue and yellow can has a clean visual hierarchy, with the product type, flavor and Sollos sunburst logo easy to identify. Callouts for raw honey, natural caffeine and light carbonation are readable, although the design has moderate rather than exceptional shelf impact.
Things to consider:
- Launching with only a pineapple and coconut flavor may limit the line’s initial appeal. The tropical combination is pleasant, but it is more niche than a broader entry flavor such as citrus, berry or peach.
- The front-panel emphasis on “No Stevia” and raw honey may suggest that the drink contains no non-nutritive sweeteners, yet monk fruit is included in the formula. Replacing that callout with the 50-calorie count could communicate a more useful and transparent benefit.
- The flavor execution is polished, but Sollos doesn’t establish a clearly differentiated position within the increasingly crowded yerba mate category. Additional flavors or a sharper functional story would help the brand feel more innovative.
