WASHINGTON, D.C. — One Eight Distilling, a craft distillery in Washington, D.C. will be undergoing renovations at their production facility and tasting room, which will allow them to significantly increase their production capacity. This development comes on the heels of a busy year for the distillery, which recently won best in category and a double gold medal at the prestigious 2018San Francisco World Spirits Competition for their Untitled Whiskey No. 10, and debuted their new brand, “District Made” in partnership with their creative agency, Thoroughbred Spirits Consultants.
The distillery is working with DCI Architects to raise the roof above a new still, install a window behind the tasting room bar and construct a bottling room in the barrel warehouse. The tasting room will close for two weeks in July and will promptly reopen for cocktail service and events. Tours will be suspended from June 30 through September.
“After more than a year of planning, we are thrilled to be implementing improvements to our production capacity and customer experience that will make One Eight the largest distillery in our nation’s capital,” said Co-founder and CEO Sandy Wood.
The construction at their facility will allow them to produce more of their current offerings, which can be purchased locally here, thanks to a partnership with Breakthru Beverage Group. The current District Made portfolio includes: District Made Vodka, District Made Ivy City Gin, District Made Barrel Rested Gin, District Made Straight Rye Whiskey, District Made Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
