Oliggo-Fiber® inulin, Zerose® erythritol and Xtend® sucromalt are valued for their versatility and health benefits
MINNEAPOLIS – Cargill is making it easy for members of the beverage industry to learn about its industry-leading ingredients during the BevNET Live forum, Dec. 5-6, 2011, in Santa Monica, Calif. Attendees will be able to speak to Cargill experts about the value Oliggo-Fiber® inulin, Zerose® erythritol and Xtend® sucromalt can bring to consumer beverage products.
“The functional beverage market continues to be a very important category,” said Pam Stauffer, global marketing programs and communications manager, Cargill Health & Nutrition. “As consumers become more and more sophisticated in their ingredient knowledge, the industry must respond by providing beverages made with high quality products that deliver on their promises.”
BevNET Live participants will learn more about:
- Oliggo-Fiber® inulin — Known as the “invisible fiber,” it can be incorporated into almost any food or beverage without affecting taste or texture. Inulin is recognized as a prebiotic ingredient that supports the natural, healthful bacteria in the lower GI tract. Research also indicates that inulin may enhance dietary calcium absorption, particularly among pre-teens and post-menopausal women.
- Zerose® erythritol — a natural bulk sweetener that has zero calories, zero sugar and zero aftertaste. With a sweetness profile similar to sugar, it tastes 60 to 70 percent as sweet as sugar, provides bulk and mouthfeel, and masks the aftertaste of intense sweeteners. It is suitable for dental health, weight management, and sugar and calorie avoidance.
- Xtend® sucromalt — a natural sweetener syrup that provides carbohydrates without the peaks and valleys in blood sugar. It is a fully caloric, low glycemic sweetener that is ideal for use in foods where a steady release of energy is desired.
“We look forward to collaborating with beverage formulators to create products that support healthy lifestyles and make it easy for consumers to drink to their health,” said Stauffer.
BevNET Live is a forum for beverage entrepreneurs, suppliers, distributors, retailers and investors to gather, speak and exchange ideas through interactive panels and lectures.
