Portland, Ore.; April 30, 2024 - Last night, along with 214 other food and beverage producers from across the country, The Bitter Housewife received a Good Food Award for their Old Fashioned Aromatic Bitters.
The Bitter Housewife has been making craft cocktail bitters in Portland, OR for the last 10 years. They have a line of eight flavors that include another Good Food and sofi winning flavor, Cardamom, as well as Good Food Finalists, Orange and Westward Hazelnut. Founder and flavor developer Genevieve Brazelton’s commitment to making high-quality products and sharing her knowledge of cocktails and flavor in a fun, approachable way, has made The Bitter Housewife a loved brand locally and nationally.
“While other flavors have been recognized in past years, it’s super exciting to have our flagship flavor named a winner,” says Brazelton. “Aromatic bitters are the most familiar flavor of cocktail bitters. While we might not have been judged alongside other aromatic bitters in this year’s tasting, I’m sure the judges had some expectations and we still impressed them.”
The Good Food Awards honor the best makers of Tasty, Authentic, and Responsible Food and Drink. Chosen through a rigorous blind tasting and sustainability vetting process from nearly 2,000 entries, these exceptional makers rose to the top on the basis of taste, while also demonstrating an outstanding commitment to sustainable environmental and social practices.
