Rum Enthusiasts Transported to Island Time in Celebration of 200th Anniversary

As part of the Summer of Rum, the House of Angostura® is proud to unveil The Resort Cocktail Collection, a curated selection of Caribbean resort-inspired cocktail recipes, featuring ANGOSTURA® Premium Rums and ANGOSTURA® Bitters, including one from Trinidad’s famous Queen’s Park Hotel. Designed to transport you to a luxurious island resort with every sip, these cocktails embody the spirit of island living and the essence of a 5-star summer experience—relaxed, vibrant, and full of flavor.

Featured Cocktails in the House of Angostura®  Resort Cocktail Collection

  • ANGOSTURA® Queen’s Park Swizzle: A vibrant and refreshing cocktail featuring ANGOSTURA® 7-Year-Old Premium Rum originated in Trinidad and Tobago and was specifically named after the Queen’s Park Hotel in Port of Spain. Often regarded as the quintessential Caribbean cocktail and celebrated for its perfect balance of flavors. 

  • ANGOSTURA® Mai Tai: A well-balanced cocktail with a Caribbean flair that marries the deep, complex flavors of ANGOSTURA® 5-Year-Old Rum with the bright, tangy notes of fresh lime and the sweet, nutty essence of orgeat syrup. The orange curaçao offers a hint of citrus and the dash of ANGOSTURA® bitters ties all the flavors together with its aromatic and slightly spicy touch. 

  • ANGOSTURA® Rum Punch: A refreshing blend of ANGOSTURA® 5-Year-Old Rum with bright citrus notes and a hint of sweetness, this expertly crafted cocktail embodies the spirit of the Caribbean.   • ANGOSTURA® Colada: This delightful tropical cocktail is a refined twist on the classic Piña Colada, combining the rich flavors of ANGOSTURA® 5-Year Rum with the creamy sweetness of coconut and pineapple, all balanced by the aromatic depth of ANGOSTURA® bitters.

  • ANGOSTURA® Honeysuckle: A perfect balance of sweet and citrus flavors, enhanced by the complexity of the ANGOSTURA® 7-Year Rum and bitters. This cocktail is both refreshing and aromatic, making it a perfect choice for warm summer evenings or any time you want a taste of the tropics with a sophisticated twist.

A Legacy of Timeless Flavor: 200 Years of Angostura

Every dash of ANGOSTURA® bitters has told a rich story for two centuries. The iconic bitters brand was born in 1824 when it was first formulated as a medicinal tincture in Venezuela by Dr Johann Seigert. In the 1870s, Dr Siegert’s three sons moved to Trinidad, where Angostura® bitters has been made ever since to the exact recipe as in 1824.

In the 1950s, ANGOSTURA® decided to apply its passion for blending into crafting a range of beautiful rums. With an award-winning rum portfolio from the only distillery in Trinidad and Tobago, Angostura is one of the island's crown jewels with its premium rums, and its two centuries-old history is a testament to the company’s grit, drive, and determination.

House of Angostura® Resort Cocktail Collection Recipes

ANGOSTURA® Queen’s Park Swizzle

Ingredients: 

2 oz. ANGOSTURA® 7-Year-Old Premium Rum

1 oz. Demerara simple syrup

1 oz. fresh lime juice

12-14 mint leaves

6-8 dashes Angostura® Aromatic Bitters 

Garnish: mint sprig

Method: 

Build in a highball glass. Muddle mint leaves in lime juice and simple syrup, then fill the glass with dry, crushed ice. Pour rum over ice and swizzle well until the glass is chilled. Add more ice and top with Angostura aromatic bitters and mint sprig.

ANGOSTURA® Mai Tai

Ingredients: 

2 ½ oz. ANGOSTURA® 5-Year Gold Rum 

1 oz. Orange Curaçao

½ oz fresh lime juice

1 oz fresh pineapple juice (optional)

¼ oz Orgeat syrup

½ teaspoon white cane sugar

2 dashes Angostura® Aromatic Bitters

1 dash vanilla syrup (optional)

Garnish: mint sprig and lime wedge

Method: 

Shake all ingredients in an ice-filled shaker and strain into an ice-filled old-fashioned glass. Garnish with mint sprig and lime wedge.

ANGOSTURA® Rum Punch

Ingredients: 

3 oz ANGOSTURA® 5-Year Gold Rum 

1.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice 

3 tsp Brown Cane Sugar 

1 Dash ANGOSTURA® Orange Bitters 

4 Dashes ANGOSTURA® Aromatic Bitters 

Garnish: freshly grated nutmeg, lime wedge and a Maraschino cherry

Method: 

Shake all ingredients together with ice and strain into ice-filled glass. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg, lime wedge, and a Maraschino cherry.

ANGOSTURA® Colada

Ingredients:

1/2 oz. ANGOSTURA® 5-Year Gold Rum 

1 1/2 oz. ANGOSTURA®  Bitters

2 oz. pineapple juice

1 1/2 oz. cream of coconut

1 oz. lime juice

Garnish: orange slice, pineapple leaves and freshly grated nutmeg

Method: 

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake until chilled. Pour shaker contents into a snifter and fill with crushed ice. Stir gently and garnish with an orange slice, pineapple leaves, and freshly grated nutmeg.

ANGOSTURA® Honeysuckle

Ingredients: 

2 oz ANGOSTURA® 7-Year-Old Premium Rum

¾ oz Lime (Juice)

¾ oz Honey (Syrup)

1 dash ANGOSTURA® Orange Bitters 

Method: 

Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake with ice. Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
