London Distillers, Jim & Tonic, are continuing their drive for sustainable production, revolutionising their on-trade refill scheme by introducing a new 5 litre ‘bag in box' solution.
The full spirits collection will be available as part of the scheme including their award winning Mediterranean Gin, the brand's new range of Caribbean Rums, and the best selling Rhubarb & Honey Gin, crafted with sustainably produced, London honey.
Since 2016, Jim & Tonic Distillery Co. has been a leader in sustainable craft production, seeing the distillery implement several key practices to minimise its environmental impact. Wherever possible, local and ethical botanicals are sourced from sustainable suppliers for use in production and the business continues to reduce waste with its innovative water management systems and the creation of a ‘Zero Waste’ Triple Sec.
The business first debuted a refill scheme in 2019, working with key on-trade partners to perfect its dispense solutions and significantly reduce glass waste. The new bag in box packaging is an evolution of the existing scheme and will allow the brand to expand its refill offering to on-trade customers outside of the M25 for the first time.
Head Distiller Hendre’ Barnard commented “Our experience in the field of bulk supply to trade customers has allowed us to perfect our dispense solutions in such a way that it makes implementation easy for both the On Trade Customer, as well as Distributors. The new solution is a perfect merge of quality & uniqueness, allowing us to provide our craft spirits at a competitive price point, with a reduced carbon footprint kicker.”
Andrea Ferrario, co-founder of on-trade partners German Kraft added “We have been proud to partner with Jim & Tonic, utilising the refill scheme to support our on-trade operation for the past 5 years. The new solution significantly streamlines storage and handling, making it a practical and eco-friendly choice for us“
The new bag in box solution is now available for direct supply and interested parties are encouraged to reach out direct to Jim & Tonic for more information on joining the scheme. The business is set to further its drive for sustainable production later this year with the introduction of a ‘bottle for life’ scheme, set to arrive in Autumn 2024.
