Tip Top’s new Whiskey Sour was developed by seven-time James Beard Award nominated mixologist Miles Macquarrie (of Atlanta’s Kimball House).
“The Whiskey Sour is a classic, but also the perfect gateway for drinking whiskey cocktails," says Miles Macquarrie, Recipe Developer for Tip Top. “The ingredients are straightforward - whiskey, lemon, and sugar - and they allow the whiskey to shine through while softening the blow of the alcohol. Our goal was to hit a perfect balance that brings out notes of vanilla and cherry from the whiskey, that when mixed with lemon and sugar, creates orange and tangerine flavors reminiscent of creamsicle.”
Since launching in September 2019, Tip Top has created 16 premium canned cocktails. Whiskey Sour is the sixth cocktail to launch in 2024 and joins the impressive list of classic and modern classic cocktails: Naked & Famous, Paper Plane, Penicillin, Boulevardier, Gin Martini, Manhattan, Negroni, Old Fashioned, Mai Tai, Bee’s Knees, Daiquiri, Espresso Martini, Jungle Bird, Cosmopolitan, and Margarita. Small yet mighty, Tip Top has received national acclaim and top industry awards, including nine 2024 San Francisco Ready-To-Drink Competition Medals (of note: a Double Gold award for the Margarita), and six 2024 New Orleans Spirits Competition Medals (of note: Best Rum RTD for Jungle Bird and Best Whiskey RTD for Old Fashioned) and many more.

ABOUT TIP TOP PROPER COCKTAILS: Atlanta-based Tip Top Proper Cocktails is an award-winning, ready-to-enjoy classic cocktail brand founded in 2018 by childhood friends and music industry veterans Neal Cohen and Yoni Reisman. After years producing large-scale events and festivals, the two discovered something was missing from the market: convenient, high-quality, classic cocktails. Enlisting the help of Atlanta bartender and seven-time James Beard Award nominee Miles Macquarrie (of Kimball House) to develop the recipes, the team has created sixteen 100ml canned low-ball classic cocktail recipes: Naked & Famous, Paper Plane, Penicillin, Boulevardier, Gin Martini, Manhattan, Negroni, Old Fashioned, Mai Tai, Bee’s Knees, Cosmopolitan, Daiquiri, Espresso Martini, Jungle Bird, Margarita, and Whiskey Sour. Tip Top has received national acclaim and top industry awards, including nine San Francisco Ready-To-Drink Competition Medals, earning a Double Gold for Margarita, and six New Orleans Spirits Competition Medals, including Best Rum RTD for Jungle Bird and Best Whiskey RTD for Old Fashioned, this year alone. Tip Top Proper Cocktails are available in retail and package stores, now including Total Wine, restaurants, and bars in over 25 states; the products are also available for shipping to 40+ states nationwide via online purchase at their website.
