LONDON, ENGLAND, March 3, 2025 – Following the recent announcement of Neil Everitt being appointed Chairman, innovative Scotch Whiskymaker, Compass Box is pleased to announce the pivotal appointment of Nishat Gupte as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer.
In his new role, Gupte will succeed Maurice Doyle as CEO and will lead Compass Box’s strategy, operations and market development.

I look forward to further building on our commercial strategy, while safeguarding the pioneering spirit that’s made Compass Box the favorite among Scotch tastemakers worldwide.”
“Compass Box has earned tremendous respect for challenging Scotch whisky conventions, and I’m honored to come on board,” says Everitt. “Nishat’s blend of financial and commercial acumen, as well as beverage industry experience, complements Compass Box’s innovative DNA perfectly. Together with the team, we aim to expand the brand’s market presence, refine its commercial execution, and keep delivering top-tier whiskies that exceed expectations.”
Gupte joins Compass Box following his nearly five-year tenure in New York as founding CEO of Betty Buzz and Betty Booze, where he steered the company from ideation to a multi-million-dollar beverage portfolio that is sold across major grocery and independent retail outlets in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. Prior, Gupte was Head of European Luxury and Alcoholic Beverage Investment Banking at Credit Suisse where he led the sale of Aviation Gin to Diageo. Their combined leadership brings sharper decision-making, focus on operational efficiency, and a renewed commercial edge. Together, they are set to accelerate the company’s growth, ensuring Compass Box remains dynamic, adaptable, and well-positioned for long-term success.
Everitt’s decades of beverage leadership roles include founder and Executive Director of Brockmans Gin Ltd. and Chairman of Rye River Brewing Company, Ireland’s leading craft brewer. He is also the anchor investor and a Director of Jubel Beer in the U.K. Additionally, Everitt is Chairman of the multi-award-winning events and marketing agency, Marble Communications in London. Prior to Brockmans, Everitt held numerous executive positions including with Stock Spirits Group, Allied Domecq plc, and British American Tobacco PLC.
