SEATTLE, April 2 -- Browne Family, a leading Northwest premium wine and spirits brand, and Seattle-based Alaska Airlines, are proud to introduce the expansion of the Browne Forest Project with the launch of the new Skyline Series. The Skyline Series will be available exclusively to first-class passengers on Alaska Airlines flights beginning this month, allowing passengers to participate in this environmental initiative while savoring the distinct flavors of Washington wine.

Consisting of a Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Gris from the highly acclaimed Horse Heaven Hills region of Washington, every aspect of the package is designed to be 100% recyclable: The label is made from post-consumer recycled paper and paired with a screw cap. The bottles are also 31% lighter than standard wine bottles, reducing the energy required for transit and production, and are packaged in cartons from responsibly managed forests.

“We are deeply grateful for Alaska Airlines' support of the Browne Forest Project, which has been instrumental in extending the reach of our mission,” said Andrew Browne, founder, Browne Family. “Their partnership has enabled us to expand our reforestation efforts, marking a significant milestone as we plant trees in our 17th state. This collaboration not only celebrates our mission but underscores the power of collective action in making a lasting impact on our environment."

Planting a tree one bottle at a time, the Browne Forest Project has planted 300,000 trees since 2023. The project's importance is underscored by recent climate-related events, including the  Southern California wildfires that devastated 57,000+ acres of land just earlier this year. Restoration projects thus far include Mojave Desert restoration (Nevada + Arizona); revegetating Hiawatha National Forest (Michigan); planting trees along rivers and streams to restore habitats for endangered orcas (Pacific Northwest); Rim wildfire restoration (California); statewide wildfire restoration (Oregon); Spring Creek Fire restoration (Colorado); and Elmo Fire restoration (Montana).

“We are thrilled to welcome Browne Family Forest Project wines onboard. At Alaska, we are fortunate to partner with so many West Coast brands that share our commitment to premium quality and sustainability,” said Jessica Johnston, Senior Food & Beverage Product Manager. “Browne Family’s dedication to crafting exceptional wines while prioritizing reforestation and environmental responsibility aligns perfectly with our values, and we’re excited to bring their wines to our guests."

Consumers are encouraged to take advantage of Alaska Airlines’ Wine Flies Free program, where passengers 21 years and older can check one case of wine (up to 12 bottles) for free on domestic flights departing from one of the thirty-two participating airports across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and California.

Browne Forest Project wines are available online, across Browne Family tasting rooms, and at select Kroger, Safeway/Albertsons, Total Wine & More, and Target (where applicable by market). Celebrate Earth Month at any Browne Family location with the tasting room exclusive Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon and newly available Single Malt. Guests will receive 15% off all Forest Project merchandise with purchase of a Forest Project wine or spirit bottle. Learn more about the Browne Forest Project and make a reservation today!
