Recoup Draws Investor Interest After Consecutive Pitch Wins and Major Retail Expansion

San Diego, CA – April 22, 2025 – Functional beverage brand Recoup is making waves across the startup and wellness worlds as a finalist in the Naturally San Diego “Naturally Rising” pitch competition hosted by Naturally Network, and a semi-finalist in the San Diego Angel Conference (SDAC), where it ranks among the top 12 out of 129 companies. This surge in recognition follows Recoup’s back-to-back wins at two of the beverage industry’s most prestigious competitions: BevNET’s New Beverage Showdown and the Expo West Pitch Slam.

Co-founded by San Diego-based mom and former college athlete Susan Hartman and childhood illness survivor turned serial entrepreneur Siwat Siengsanaoh, Recoup was born from a desire to help people feel more resilient with gut-healthy hydration. The brand’s line of Regenerative Organic Certified® drinks is powered by ultra-hydrating maple tree water, prebiotic fiber, and real ginger, delivering benefits for gut health and recovery—without added sugar or stevia.

Recoup’s momentum continues as the company prepares to present at the Nutrition Capital Network (NCN) investor meeting next week and expand into Sprouts Farmers Market locations nationwide this May, marking its largest retail launch to date. To support this growth, Recoup is currently raising $1.3 million to build out distribution, scale marketing, and fuel continued product innovation.

The company’s Regenerative Organic Certification sets it apart in the crowded functional beverage space, aligning with a new generation of wellness-minded, environmentally conscious consumers. Recoup is the first beverage brand in the nation to earn this distinction across its portfolio.

As competition season heats up, Recoup’s resilience-first ethos and proven market traction are positioning the brand as a standout in the next wave of better-for-you consumer products.


About Recoup

Recoup Beverage Inc. is a certified minority-owned and female-founded company with a mission to champion resilience for people and the planet through regenerative organic modern remedies. It was co-founded by Siwat Siengsanaoh and Susan Buckwalter Hartman.

Siwat spent the first three years of his life in the hospital and underwent ten major surgeries before the age of twelve. His mother’s ginger-based home remedies played a key role in his recovery and served as the initial inspiration for Recoup. Siwat later combed through medical research to identify the clinically effective dose of ginger used in every bottle.

Co-founder Susan Buckwalter Hartman is an avid athlete and nature-lover who wanted a clean-label beverage that felt like self-care—not a compromise. Recoup is the nation’s first beverage brand to be Regenerative Organic Certified® across its full portfolio and was a 2024 winner of the BevNET New Beverage Showdown and a 2025 winner of the Natural Products Expo West Pitch Slam.

Recoup is currently available at Wegmans, Erewhon, select Mother’s Market, and Jimbo’s, with a national rollout into Sprouts Farmers Markets beginning in early May.
