September 8, 2025 (Chicago, IL) – González Byass USA is thrilled to announce the U.S. launch of Wolfcraig, an ultra-premium Scotch whisky brand founded on Scottish legend, exceptional craftsmanship, and a rare partnership between two of the most celebrated Master Blenders in the world, Richard Paterson OBE and Ian Macmillan.
Founded in 2017 by industry veteran Michael Lunn and his son Jamie Lunn, Wolfcraig was created as a pioneering, independent luxury whisky brand. Together, they entrusted Richard Paterson and Ian Macmillan to help bring this vision to life. Together, the two Master Blenders bring more than 100 years of craftsmanship and privileged access to Scotland’s most distinguished whiskies.
Wolfcraig is inspired by an ancient Scottish tale in which a wolf cub’s howl foiled a Norse ambush on a Celtic garrison, securing victory for the Celts. The battlefield has been known as “Wolfcraig” ever since, and today that spirit of vigilance, courage, and triumph lives on in every bottle.
“Joining González Byass USA is an exciting milestone for Wolfcraig,” says Richard Paterson, Master Blender of Wolfcraig. “Their expertise and proven track record in bringing exceptional brands to the U.S. provides us with a remarkable opportunity to showcase how Wolfcraig defines the premium blended Scotch category. With Ian and myself dedicated to crafting whiskies of unrivaled character, we are confident that Wolfcraig will resonate strongly with discerning American whisky enthusiasts.”
The US launch will feature three limited-edition expressions:
- Wolfcraig 14 Year Old Deluxe Blend – This triple sherry cask finish (Amontillado, Pedro Ximenez, and Muscatel) offers notes of succulent figs, sweet sultanas and Napoleon cake with a hint of demerara sugar and molasses that transform into glazed tangerines, marzipan and chocolate mousse with fresh hints of spicy ginger and nutmeg in the finish. Limited edition of 4,401 bottles produced.
- Wolfcraig 30 Year Old Premium Blend – Marking its inaugural launch, this gold medal–winning small-batch release unites whiskies from all five Scottish regions, finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and American white oak ex-bourbon barrels. Just 1,472 bottles were produced.
- Wolfcraig 35 Year Old Blended Grain – A rare collection of spirits, many from closed distilleries, matured for over three decades in bourbon barrels, delivering elegance and complexity that can never be replicated. Layers of marzipan, toffee apple, citrus fruits and frangipane eventually make way for a finale of grape pulp, lime marmalade, ginger cake drenched in custard and a whisper of Swiss white chocolate. Limited edition of 1,112 bottles produced.
“We are proud to introduce Wolfcraig to the United States as part of the González Byass USA family,” states Andrew Sinclair, CEO of González Byass USA. “Richard and Gonzalez Byass have worked together for many years on other projects, and now here in the world's most important Whisky market, we are excited to introduce Wolfcraig, which represents the very best of modern Scotch whisky making, blending heritage with innovation. Their commitment to craftsmanship, storytelling, and quality aligns seamlessly with our mission, and we’re excited to share this bold new brand with whisky enthusiasts across the country.”
As part of the González Byass USA portfolio, Wolfcraig Scotch Whisky will be available in select markets across the country beginning September 2025, offering American consumers the opportunity to taste one of Scotland’s most inspiring new luxury whisky brands.
