Forest Grove, OR — SakéOne, America’s pioneering craft saké brewery and importer of premium Japanese saké, proudly announces that its Oregon-brewed Momokawa Diamond and Momokawa Silver each earned Silver Medals at the 2025 U.S. National Saké Appraisal.
This year’s competition evaluated 492 entries from 153 breweries worldwide, the vast majority from Japan. Entries were judged blind by a panel of 11 experts, nine from Japan and two from the U.S., on aroma, taste, balance, and overall impression.
Among the 13 American saké breweries that submitted entries, SakéOne was the only U.S. producer to receive a medal.
“SakéOne was founded with the belief that saké could thrive in America if brewed with authenticity, respect, and innovation. These medals affirm that vision, but more importantly, they honor the remarkable work of our brewers, who continue to push the boundaries of craft saké in Oregon.” Paul Englert, President of SakéOne said.
Established in 2001, the U.S. National Saké Appraisal is the oldest and most respected saké appraisal held outside Japan. The recognition marks the second consecutive year that SakéOne has medaled, reinforcing its position as the leading American producer advancing the craft of saké brewing.
“At SakéOne, we strive every day to honor centuries of Japanese brewing tradition while expressing what makes Oregon unique,” Takumi Kuwabara, Toji/Master Brewer at SakéOne said. “To see Momokawa recognized on this stage is a great encouragement, and I am deeply grateful to our team for the care they put into every step of the brewing process.”
Momokawa and all SakéOne Oregon-crafted products are available nationwide.
