New York, NY (October 1, 2025) — FUJI Whisky proudly announces the U.S. debut of its newest Single Malt Japanese Whisky — an elegant expression of the brand’s deep-rooted artistry and category innovation. Composed entirely of 100% Japanese malt whiskies, the new core brand release blends five decades of malt-making tradition with a modern approach that brings forth a refined, fruit-forward profile. The result is a masterfully balanced whisky that captures the essence of the FUJI Gotemba Distillery—its craft, its terroir, and its spirit.
The new Single Malt is defined by its mellow texture, creamy mouthfeel, and nuanced complexity. Delicate aromas of white peaches, crème brûlée, and fruit tart open into a lush, layered palate featuring notes of apricot, oatmeal cookies, and soft spice. Aged in a range of casks, including American white oak and French oak red wine barrels, the whisky finishes long and moderately sweet, with layers that unfold gracefully on the palate.
FUJI’s pioneering whisky-making draws on three of the world’s great traditions—Scottish copper pot stills, Canadian-style multi-column distillation, and American bourbon techniques—all crafted at a single site – the FUJI Gotemba distillery in Japan. This rare integration of global methods, brought together under one roof, results in an exceptionally diverse and layered portfolio of whiskies, each shaped by precision, innovation, and a deep respect for tradition.
At the heart of the whisky lies one of FUJI’s most exceptional natural assets: its water. Each drop of snowmelt and rainfall takes 50 years to travel from Mt. Fuji’s summit to the deep aquifer beneath the distillery, imbuing the liquid with a singular purity that’s foundational to the brand’s signature softness and clarity.
Located just 7.5 miles from Mt. Fuji’s peak, the FUJI Gotemba Distillery, the world's only distillery to craft malt and three styles of grain whiskies, has been a beacon of Japanese whisky craftsmanship since its founding in 1973. Surrounded by forest, mist, and mineral-rich volcanic soil, the site offers ideal conditions for aging whisky and developing complexity with grace. This expression builds on a legacy that recently earned FUJI Whisky the cover of Whisky Advocate’s 2024 Japan Issue and a place on its prestigious “Top 20 Whiskies of the Year” 2023 list.
The Single Malt was aged in a variety of barrels including American white oak and French oak red wine cask. Graced with Mt. Fuji snowmelt and rainwater, this beautifully balanced and fascinating flavor is a reflection of Mother Nature and the unparalleled expertise at Fuji Gotemba Distillery.

ABOUT FUJI WHISKY:
Established in 1973 as a joint venture between Kirin Brewery, Chivas Brothers and J. E. Seagram & Sons to bring the best of Japanese craftsmanship to life while combining Scottish, American, and Canadian whisk(e)y-making methods, Fuji Gotemba Distillery is the only distillery in the world that makes malt and grain Japanese whiskies in Scottish, Canadian, and American styles all under one roof. Named after the most iconic landmark in Japan, Mt. Fuji, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, FUJI Whisky is one of the only whiskies in the world to use Mt. Fuji’s snowmelt in its whisky production. The snowmelt takes a 50-year journey from Mt. Fuji’s peak to the depths of an underground aquifer underneath the distillery, which results in a uniquely clear, pristine, and soft water that is the foundation for all of FUJI’s distinctive whisky expressions.
