FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Windsor, Calif. — (Oct. 8, 2025) — Today, Sarah Citron is proudly named Chief Executive Officer of Bricoleur Vineyards, the Sonoma County estate celebrated for its distinctive wine & food pairings, organic farming, and warm hospitality.
Citron, a co-founder of the family-run Bricoleur Vineyards, has long been the driving force behind its pioneering vision. For the past eight years, she has inspired the team to grow boldly, think outside the traditional wine playbook, and reimagine what a modern winery can be - where fine wine seamlessly meets lifestyle, culinary innovation, and meaningful community connection. She has been instrumental in changing and shaping the way the wine industry is portrayed, leading with a family-friendly, elevated, experience-driven tasting room model that sets Bricoleur apart. Now under her leadership, Bricoleur Vineyards will continue to evolve—guided by the same spirit of authenticity, innovation, and purpose that has defined it from the start.
“At Bricoleur, we’ve always believed wine is more than what’s in the glass - it’s about creating moments, traditions, and connection,” said Citron. “I’m honored to lead our next chapter, building new pathways with brand partnerships, loyalty programs, and experiences that bring people together.”
A Record of Leadership & Innovation
Prior to her appointment as CEO, Citron served as Chief Operating Officer and previously as VP of Marketing, leading efforts to build the estate’s acclaimed brand, strong team culture, and reputation for exceptional hospitality and culinary experiences. Her leadership has placed Bricoleur on the national stage with features on NBC’s TODAY Show, recognition as one of USA Today’s 10 Best New Wineries, and accolades from Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, Forbes, and Sunset International Wine Competition.
Bricoleur Vineyards has gained national recognition for its distinctive, site-driven wines and commitment to excellence. Citron has already been deeply involved in every facet of the winery—working directly with each department, collaborating closely with the winemaking team, and spearheading hallmark wine campaigns such as the Bricoleur Vineyards Small Lot Program, the ‘Sip with Purpose’ Isla Rose Brut Rosé, and the Founder’s Block Pinot Noir.
Among recent highlights under the talented winemaking team of Thomas Pierson & Bob Cabral:
- Wine Spectator’s James Molesworth spotlighted Bricoleur Vineyards earlier this year, stating: “Some wineries offer excellent Pinot Noir. Others offer excellent Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s rare when one producer does both. Enter Bricoleur.”
- Wine Enthusiast awarded Bricoleur’s Estate Grown Special Selection Pinot Noir (2021) 94 points, highlighting its “generous, spicy oak nuances” and “beautifully layered black fruit character.”
- In June 2025, the Sunset International Wine Competition awarded Bricoleur Vineyards’ Kick Ranch Viognier and Cabernet Sauvignon both Best in Class, with 98 points and 97 points, respectively.
Citron, who started her career in digital commerce with Tory Burch and Theory in New York, has used her entrepreneurial mindset and fashion background to expand Bricoleur into a lifestyle destination, introducing innovative loyalty programs, dynamic brand partnerships, and elevated culinary pairings that push the boundaries of the wine industry. She is the driving force behind Bricoleur’s evolution into a modern lifestyle brand that celebrates community, creativity, and connection. Her leadership emphasizes inclusivity and innovation, with initiatives like family-friendly experiences, non-alcoholic beverage offerings, and elevated gifting programs that reflect her belief that wine country should be welcoming to all.
Recognized for Purpose & Impact
Citron’s personal resilience and commitment to purpose have defined Bricoleur’s ethos. Diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer at age 32, Citron launched the evergreen Sip With Purpose campaign in 2023, raising over $100,000 for cancer research organizations. Today, at 35, she is cancer-free and a passionate advocate for survivorship, early testing, and continued investment in life-saving research. The winery’s Isla Rose Brut Rosé, named for her daughter, honors both her journey and the strength of women everywhere. In 2024, she was named a North Bay Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree for her leadership, innovation, and advocacy.
A Vision for the Future
Bricoleur Vineyards is proud to now be led by two women at the helm, CEO Sarah Citron and CFO Frances Spangler, a rarity in the wine industry.
“Sarah’s leadership is both visionary and deeply personal, and I’m honored to partner with her as we continue building Bricoleur into a winery that not only produces extraordinary wines but also sets new standards for purpose, sustainability, and hospitality,” said Frances Spangler, CFO of Bricoleur Vineyards. “As two women leading this estate together, we’re proud to be shaping a business that reflects both innovation and heart.”
Under Citron’s leadership, Bricoleur will continue to:
- Expand direct-to-consumer outreach with innovative hospitality and culinary experiences
- Grow national distribution and brand visibility for its organically farmed, sustainable estate-driven wines
- Advance loyalty and lifestyle programs that connect with consumers beyond the bottle
- Create a welcoming space for all generations - from young families to lifelong wine lovers - through an elevated, experience-driven tasting room
- Support cancer charities through its philanthropic platforms
With this strong female leadership team, Bricoleur is charting a future where it is more than a winery - it is a destination, a community, and a lifestyle brand rooted in family, craftsmanship, and purpose.
