Introducing Estate 98 Licor de Café Especial — a brand-new, first-of-its-kind espresso spirit that fuses centuries of coffee-growing tradition with cutting-edge extraction technology. Rooted in six generations of Salvadoran coffee heritage, Estate 98 Licor de Café Especial presents a deeply complex, caffeine-charged spirit that eliminates the need for fresh espresso behind the bar while redefining what coffee liqueur can be. Available now, Estate 98 Licor de Café Especial is available for direct-to-consumer online purchase to 45 states, with in-store rollout across Miami, Florida.
Crafted from 100% single-estate coffee grown on the nutrient-rich slopes of the Santa Ana Volcano, Estate 98 delivers an intensely coffee-forward profile with rich notes of dark chocolate, roasted espresso, and mild tangerine acidity — and packs more caffeine than any other coffee liqueur on the market - comparable to a freshly pulled shot of high-quality espresso. With less than 1 g of sugar per pour, this invigorating new lower-proof spirit offers a smooth body, creamy mouthfeel, and balanced sweetness, making it a sessionable sipper on its own or a bold ingredient in a variety of cocktails.
"Estate 98 is more than a coffee liqueur — it's the culmination of over two centuries of knowledge, tradition, and respect for the land," said co-founder Andres Larin. "We wanted to create a spirit that honors our heritage and lets the coffee shine, instead of the sugar content – all while solving real challenges for bartenders and elevating the experience for coffee cocktail lovers everywhere."
The story of Estate 98 traces back to 1798, when the Larin family first cultivated coffee at the base of El Salvador's Santa Ana Volcano. Enriched by a harmonious blend of volcanic soil, microclimate, elevation, and sunlight, their land – known as El Noventa y Ocho – quickly became one of the region's most celebrated coffee estates.
Today, co-founders Andres and Jose Larin carry that legacy forward. Inspired by childhood summers spent exploring their family's mill and fueled by a lifelong passion for coffee, the brothers unite storytelling, innovation, and meticulous craftsmanship to create Estate 98: a tribute to the enduring spirit, culture, and terroir of El Salvador.
Every step of Estate 98's production is designed to preserve the integrity and complexity of the coffee bean. Sustainably shade-grown under a biodiverse canopy of trees, beans are hand-harvested at peak ripeness, honey-processed in a wet mill, and gently sun-dried on traditional clay patios before being roasted to coax out their signature flavor notes.
A proprietary extraction process — which maintains the bean's most beneficial compounds — produces Esencia de Café, the concentrated essence that anchors Estate 98's liqueur. Blended with neutral cane spirit and a whisper of natural vanilla, the final product is bold, balanced, and uncompromisingly coffee-forward.
For bars and restaurants, Estate 98 also represents a powerful operational upgrade:
No espresso machine required — save on equipment, maintenance, and training.
Up to 90% prep time savings and $1–$3 per drink cost savings.
Consistent quality and frothy crema — every single pour.
"With Estate 98, crafting a premium coffee cocktail is effortless — no need to waste time pulling espresso shots or use poor quality coffee concentrates. Shake with ice and your favorite spirit for a refined serve with a perfect frothy layer of foam, every time," noted co-founder Jose Larin.
Estate 98 Licor de Café Especial (25% ABV / 50 proof) is now available direct-to-consumer and through select partners in Miami, with wider U.S. distribution planned for 2026. SRP: $49.99 / 700ml.
