SUN VALLEY, ID – April 28, 2026 – Warfield Distillery announced the release of its newly evolved whiskey lineup, introducing updated and new expressions that reflect a significant step forward in the brand’s commitment to quality, accessibility, and place-driven production.
The new portfolio includes Sun Valley Whiskey, Idaho Highlands Whiskey, and the debut of a Gently Peated Whiskey, each shaped by Warfield’s high-elevation distilling environment and long-term investment in aged inventory.
These releases mark the culmination of years of intentional production growth, allowing Warfield to increase aging standards across its core expressions while lowering suggested retail prices—an uncommon move in the premium whiskey category.
“This is something we’ve been building toward for a long time,” said Alex Buck, Managing Distiller. “As our aged inventory has matured, we’re now able to release more developed, complex whiskeys while making them more accessible. It’s a meaningful step forward for us.”
Central to this evolution is Warfield’s connection to what it refers to as the “Idaho Highlands”—a high-elevation mountain environment surrounding Sun Valley that plays a defining role in the character of its spirits. Marked by significant temperature swings throughout the day and across seasons, this alpine climate drives more active interaction between the whiskey and the barrel, contributing to deeper extraction, greater structure, and added complexity over time.
Sun Valley Whiskey replaces the distillery’s previous entry-level expression, The Local, now aged over two years (up from six months). Designed as an approachable, everyday whiskey, it delivers greater maturity with increased accessibility.
Idaho Highlands Whiskey becomes the flagship expression, aged 4–5 years and supported by an evolved barrel program that incorporates new charred oak alongside used barrels, resulting in a more layered and structured profile.
Rounding out the lineup is Gently Peated Whiskey, a new expression aged a minimum of four years and lightly peated, offering a balanced introduction to smoke with Warfield’s signature approachability.
Across all expressions, Warfield continues to use 100% Idaho-grown barley and mountain water, reinforcing its commitment to regional sourcing and production integrity.
“These releases reflect where we are today and where we’re headed,” added Buck. “We’re continuing to refine our process, invest in quality, and create whiskeys that are a true expression of this place.”
The new whiskey lineup will roll out across select markets this spring, with availability expanding through Warfield’s growing national distribution network and direct-to-consumer platform.
