Dry January? Don’t tell these brands. Though many Americans are choosing to abstain from alcohol this month, that hasn’t slowed the pace of innovation from spirits makers both large and small. In this gallery, we highlight some of the notable new releases from the past month, including the debut of Cutwater Spirits’ latest RTD cocktail, the launch of ultra premium tequila brand Dos Primos, a music-inspired package from Remy Martin and a new look for SelvaRey Rum designed by accliaimed singer Bruno Mars.
Booker’s Batch
Nicknamed the “Pigskin Batch,” this third release in Booker’s 2020 Collection pays tribute to sixth-generation master distiller Booker Noe’s love of football. Bottled at 127.3 proof and aged for over six years, the Pigskin Batch is now available in limited quantities nationwide for a suggested retail price of $89.99 for a 750 mL bottle.
Tattersall Distillery
Tattersall is releasing two of its RTD cocktails in a new package, as its Old Fashioned and Manhattan move to the “cocktail shorties” format in 100ml glass bottles (35% ABV). The suggested retail price for each is $5.99.
Tanteo Tequila
Juanacatlan, Mexico-based distillery Tanteo Tequila has debuted a new label, Espero Blanco Tequila, aimed at the premium well spirits category. The spirit is traditionally distilled and made from 100% Blue Weber Agave with no additives. Tanteo Espero — bottled at 40% ABV and with an SRP of $29.99 — is currently available at select on and off-premise locations nationwide.
Ezra Brooks
As its name suggests, Ezra Brooks 99 is a 99-proof version of the distiller’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey available in 750mL bottles.
Dos Primos Tequila
The brainchild of reigning ACM Awards “Entertainer of the Year” Thomas Rhett and his cousin, pecan magnate Jeff Worn, Dos Primos is a new brand of ultra-premium blanco tequila made from 100% Blue Weber Agave from Jalisco, Mexico.
Rémy Martin
Remy Martin is taking it back with its latest limited edition package design, a throwback to mixtape culture from the 1980’s and 90’s. The package is available for purchase in select states and online for a suggested retail price of $50.
Cutwater Spirits
San Diego-based Cutwater has revealed the latest addition to its ever-growing lineup of ready-to-drink cocktails: Mango Margarita (to be followed with Strawberry Margarita and Peach Margarita in April). The new flavor, which contains 12.5% ABV, is available now in California from select retailers for a suggested retail price of $12.99 - $14.99.
Deerhammer
Cask Savant is the second bottle in Colorado-based distiller Deerhammer’s Progeny Series, a collaboration with brewery Crooked Steve in which its Hop Savant beer was left to age in American oak casks, resulting in a complex symphony of flavors. The expression is available in limited 750mL bottles at select Colorado retailers for a suggested retail price of $69.99 while supplies last.
Cooper Spirits Co.
Touted as the “only U.S.-made 20-year-old rye whiskey currently available on the market,” the Lock, Stock & Barrel 20-Year is a special release from the acclaimed spirits company behind St. Germain. The expression, bottled at 112 proof (56% ABV), is limited to just 1,000 3-pack cases and carries a suggested retail price of $389.
SelvaRey Rum
Boutique rum label SelvaRey is kicking off the new year with new packaging, branding and a global campaign, backed by acclaimed musician Bruno Mars. SelvaRey is offered in three varieties: White Rum (SRP $29.99 and 40% ABV), Chocolate Rum (SRP $34.99 and 35% ABV) and Owner's Reserve Rum (SRP $149.99 and 40% ABV).
