Red Jacket Orchards Launches Lemonade and Guayusa Tea Blend

unnamed-1

Geneva, NY – Red Jacket Orchards, veteran producers of delicious cold-pressed juices, are on track to redefine an American Classic.  Commonly known as the Half & Half, this beverage is typically a blend of lemonade and tea. Red Jacket plans to disrupt the category by putting two revolutionary halves together to create a uniquely healthy and flavorful blend.  One half is Red Jacket’s cold-pressed, unfiltered NY Style Lemonade, made by blending Apple and Lemon juice, with no added sugar or water.  The other half is fresh-brewed, fair trade, organic, Guayusa Tea (gwhy-you-sa).   Changing the way we think about juice one flavor at a time, Joe’s Clean Half & Half is naturally sweetened with apples and contains no added colors, flavors, concentrates or sugar.

Handpicked on chakras (local farms) of the Amazon Rain Forest, Guayusa Tea is loaded with nutrients known to improve cardiovascular health and inflammation.  It holds an esteemed position on a short list of foods found to contain all 15 essential amino acids, and the second highest level of antioxidants of any food found on earth. Known as the “Night Watchman” to the indigenous Kichwa community of Ecuador, Guayusa is used to heighten awareness.  It contains caffeine, but enjoys a synergistic effect with theobromine (found in dark chocolate), which is kind to the nervous system – clean and sustained energy without the jittery effect of more common sources of caffeine.

Located in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York along the rolling hills of Seneca Lake, Red Jacket Orchards has mastered the art of harvesting and pressing premium fruits and juices.   Three generations of the Nicholson family have grown apples and summer fruits, including berries, currants, cherries, peaches, plums and the largest apricot orchard on the East Coast.  Founded in 1958, what began as a local apple farm has grown to a 600-acre family orchard.

“We could have used a more traditional black or green tea, but our consumers have come to expect unparalleled innovation and unwavering integrity from Red Jacket.  In researching Guayusa’s fair trade origins, I was immediately moved by the story of the Chakras in Ecuador.  There’s a beautiful parallel to our orchards right here in Geneva, NY.  We’re supporting farming communities here and abroad, and bringing a revolutionary, clean energy product to market,” says Brian Nicholson, third generation owner of Red Jacket Orchards.

Fans of Red Jacket Orchards will experience the same high-quality level of nutrients and flavor produced through their traditional rack-and-cloth method. Every bottle contains 50% more antioxidant activity than that found in green tea, and has no added sugar or concentrate. The final product is a delicious, healthy cold pressed juice / tea blend that creates clean and sustainable energy within.

“It’s a great tasting way to get refreshed and renewed while being good to your mind and body,” says Nicholson.

Red Jacket Orchards’ Joe’s Clean Half & Half can be found at farmer’s markets, retail stores and bought from their online store after its Spring 2015 release date.
